Plant Identification, Whoops forgot to label!

Discussion in 'Growing Marijuana Indoors' started by pshavet, Aug 28, 2007.

  1. Ok, here's the situation. I am looking for a way to identify a few clones I made. Here's what's going on.

In flower 95% complete: A, B, C - A is kicking ass! It way outperforms B & C in terms of bud growth. I had no idea that one plant could perform so much better than another plant. Now, obviously you can see i'd like to get a mother of plant A.

Also in Flower: A1 (1st generation clone of A), 2-B1's (1st generation clone of B). A1 seems to have the traits of A, I did not label so I am guessing here. It has been in flower for 2 weeks and A1 (what I think is A1) is outperforming the B1's. Is it always this noticable?

Clones in VEG: Since I took 6 clones, 3 from A and 3 from B, I can only guess as to which clone is which, but judging from how the flowering is going with the clones I put in the flowering room, I should have 2 A1's and 1 B1 left, I just dont know which is which.

Trying to clone: I took two very late cuttings from A at about 7-8 weeks. I'm not sure if these will root or not (if they do my problem is solved).

So, my questions are probably obvious, I dont want to waste time growing any of these "B" plants, I want only A's. Since I have not labeled them, is there any quick and easy way to identify the parent? Any particular tricks or things I should look for that uniquely identify plants? I realize that I could take cuttings from these two plants and flower them to look for the characteristics, but i'm just wondering if there is possibly another way. Your help is appreciated...

  2. wow, its almost like if the question isnt as simple as "how do I germinate a seed" or something else no one answers it. Where are my botiny experts??

  3. Hi pshavet,

You aren't getting replies because your post looks like a riddle, and a lot of people aren't good at solving them. What is even worse is that the people here are stoned :smoke:. However, I will try to help. To identify the clones you should take a look at the plant's traits (phenotype). For example, take a look at the leaf patterns and try to determine which plants the clones reassemble the most (either A B or C). Other characteristics that might help you are the distance between nodes, the amount of branching, and overall shape (short/tall,bushy/lanky).

    Cheers,
