Hey all Basically when I watered my plants today I watered them and a few droplets collected on one of the leaves and bent the stem over, I have the light as 3 1/2 inches away from the plants (as close as i can get it without heat) but the stems look really thin, I also have a fan blowing on them 24/7 I didnt over water just a build up of water on one of the leaves was too much weight for it Plants are 1 and a half weeks old and look healthy other than this Im not expecting to have a huge trunk at 1 and a half weeks old by all means but they seem really flimsy at the moment. Any Ideas? Thanks
that shouldnt of happened unless you have issues somewhere else. did you start from seed? if you did check to make sure the root isnt shooting out of the top making the plant taller. it almost sounds like the root didnt take hold in your medium so root and plant is growing out of the top. its happened to me and i assume everyone else. nowadays i make the seed fight to get out of my plugs. then i get nice and short plants that dont stretch and stretch.
One way to avoid that is to only water your soil, water on your leaves can act as a magnifying glass and leave spots...
that's a myth the only real burn you get is when you water with nutes and leave it on the leaves, not from light + water tho
This is the plant that fell over when watering (not because I over watered, the weight of the water pushed it over) however I think it has a thin stem? Light is as close as I feel I can get it without burning or stressing the plants. 1st Grow - Marijuana Pictures, Photos & Videos - Grasscity.com Media Gallery This is one that has a weird bend in, I have now stuck directly under the light hoping it will grow straight. Thanks for the reply's should have posted photos in the first place.
your gonna be fine man.....just try and bring the lights a little closer to the plant.... mine started out the same way as yours.....and turned into this and btw nice airpots, im gonna be getting those next season
Looks okay really, just don't water the leaves... Should straighten out, maybe fill in with soil to help the stem stay up...
Cheers for that. Thats sweet have you done anything like topped it or fimmed it? Was looking in to it then thought maybe next time just aiming to get a yield on this one and build up some knowledge.
nah no topping or anything.... next season im going to be doing double top for each plant....once on the 1st week (or the earliest i can) and once on the 4th week....and im gonna be doing lst
So long as there isn't a snap in the stem it should be fine. I've actually snapped plants before and had them live, but it stunted them and eventually resulted in a small plant.
