Stem started bending today. Really purple at top of stem. It's not really that long. Its been the same length for the last 48 hours and it was doing okay till today. If not because of stretching what is the problem? The other seedling has a similar problem or even worse.

  2. What kind of soil? Looks really damp. I would cover most of the stem with soil and slow down the watering.

  3. soil no Bueno probably over watering zero perlite in that your roots are more than likely staying drenched and suffocating

  4. Canna Terra Pro Plus soil straight from the bag didn't mix with anything as rated as one of the better soil out there I've been told. Hmm I mean my mate had the same set up without problems so I guess i fucked up with the water? And maybe keeping domes over them didn't help either.

I've added soil, should I just keep them like that and don't water for like 2 days?

  5. Canna Terra Pro Plus soil.
Covered with soil to the top now. I'll stop watering for the moment. But don't want to end up underwatering as well.
    You think they can survive?

  6. Haha theyre fine mate. Just need a healthy dose of LITFA :)

  7. I agree with the previous comments. It looks like over watering. Don't worry too much though you can still save your plant. Top it up with more soil/compost and don't water her as much as you are doing at the moment. I think you can save her

  11. Keeping the domes on top of the plants is not a bad thing it’s a very good thing... the babies don’t have much roots yet so they need really high humidity. Now that being said having high humidity and over watering are two different things. I would only water when the soil in dry enough to where you can still you finger in the soil without mud stuck on your finger. It’s as easy as can be. Never over water again. I have plants about that size right now as well and I water them about every 2 - 3 days and only a small amount of water every time. (They are in direct sun though so may differ for you)

  12. Yeah its my first grow and its funny cause I spent weeks reading all forums posts etc before I started and seen lots of newbies overwatering and I was like it can't be that complicated.

And then I go and overwater in my first week lol. Now I will probably underwater them in the next few days... Well I will try and do my best not to do any of them 2.

Yeah I was sticking my finger and it felt kinda wet but cold but dry and I was confused. But I remember I did have mud on the finger which is probably when I overwatered. Thanks for the help

  13. yea don't be overly concerned with under watering, ive had all my plant wilting due to underwatering. especially when they hit a growth spirt and youre used to watering every 3 days or so and its dry in 2. I may not go in the tent but every 2 to 3 days, so if its dry in 2 itll be wilted the 3rd day when I check. a few hours after watering they'll perk on up, and as long as I handle the watering within a 24hr period I really haven't noticed stunted growth or any negative effects from under watering. on the contrary overwatering is detrimental to the plants health. I usually make my plants pass 3 test before I water. lift the plant after watering to get a feel for its weight then again when you know its ready for water, ill stick my finger as mentioned an inch or so down to see if its dry, then does the soil look dry. only if they pass all 3 weight, feel, and visual will I water.

  14. They got better now without the water. But some leaves started curling up and inside on sides. And that 2nd Picture the leaf is a bit darker at the end looks like a light burn maybe? What do you think? Pics below. IMG_20200509_191558.jpg IMG_20200509_191606.jpg

  15. if I was you I would buy some perlite and transplant. your soil will retain too much water without it. leading to overwatering and not being able to water enough. if its always wet you wont water 2 to 3 times a week so your plant wont be able to get as much nutrients leading to slower growth. if youre happy with the current situation then that's all that matters but I personally think you will have a easier grow if you add perlite. 20200430_133929.jpg something like that. roots also need oxygen the perlite helps in that area as well. I would suggest all the issues you are seeing is directly related to the soil. I don't really see light burn unless its on the opposite side of that leaf. light burn is really noticeable it will leaf a bleached spot, solid white. the leaves folding in aren't extreme my plant outside is tacoing 60% worse than that because of heat stress and over nutes. it was a dud I thought threw it along with another seed that didn't sprout into an outside planter, but it came up and ive been pushing it to the limits just as a little test of how much they can take and still survive. I think if you add perlite that will straighten up as well. your roots are basically smothering in water and nutes, you may be okay leaving it as is, however most of your soil is made for water retention which I good in moderation the perlite will balance that out. good luck bud

  16. I would transplant now before your roots completely spread out as of now you could probably safely remove a lot of the soil surrounding the roots and have an easy safe transplant.

  17. Thanks for the info man. Learning new things on here every day. My friend grows in the same soil and never had any of those problems but I'll try and get some perlite. Heat stress would make sense as I am battling temps at the moment. 28C outside today summer vibes. About 28 in room and 29.3C in tent. Unable to get it any lower at the moment. At least light are mainly on at night so that helps a bit. Light off it was was about 25C so not too bad.

  18. 84 degrees isn't bad mine in tent get up to 87 or 90 and I don't see any issues do you use the exact same set up as your friend? if you both use different grow environments that may be why they aren't having issues but you are. I don't use the soil you use so merely giving a suggestion, I would try to mimic them if they are having success. your plants look a lot better so you just may have overwatered and don't need perlite. I know how difficult it is starting out figuring out when and how much water is needed. I know perlite helps with drainage so that would help keep soil from staying saturated which would help in not over watering. as I said I don't use the soil you use but I water mine every 3 days and I soak them fully usually allowing more than the 20% run off. I use around 9 gallons for 5 plants more if I flush ill use about 15 gallons for the 5 plants. of course mine are a couple months older than yours and in 5 gallon pots. you may only need less than a half gallon a plant just giving a ratio on what I use. youll get into a routine no worries marijuana is a tough plant that in soil can withstand quite a bit before it gives in.

  19. Oh right that makes me feel better then, i thought 85-87+ is really bad for them. I guess it gets a bit easier in flowering as its only 12 hours with lights on.

Yeah he has a similar set up, better light though, and I guess he never overwatered them yet lol. I mean I still haven't got an extractor fan cause it got lost in the post, I should've waited till I had everything before starting I guess. But it will be here on wednesday tops so another few days. From what I've seen is it like 30% perlite recommended? Can I ask what medium you're using? Might think of swapping for 2nd grow, I mean I was also thinking of trying coco in the future but that is ages away anyway.

I use fox farm happy frog to start seeds in, it has some nutrients but not as much as fox farms ocean forest. seedlings get everything they need from their casing for the first few weeks. once I am at about 5 nodes I will transplant from a gallon pot to a 3 or finisher 5 gallon pot and I will use ocean forest it feeds my plant for about a month before I start adding cal/mag I do that for a week or two then I will start light nutes for seedling a veg stage. I base everything I add or don't off of runoff ppms. first part of veg 300-400ppms 2nd stage of veg 450-700ppms first part of flowering 750-950ppms 2nd half of flowering 1,000-1,600ppms then flush and back to zero ppms for the final 2 weeks of flowering for a smoother hit and better taste. of course you don't have to match those numbers as long as your plants look healthy is all that matters just a reference to go by. I like fox farms it usually feeds about 5 or 6 weeks so I save money on nutes and it does a decent job at adjusting ph itself regardless if I add 6.0 ,6.3 ,6.5 ,6.7 ,7.0 itll adjust to 6.5 until mid to late veg makes for a easier stress free start. you may not be able to obtain happy frog I don't think its available everywhere. the only issue I don't like about it is starting in ocean forest it nute burns my young plants every time, however is easily corrected with a good flush. I would wait until you fully understand what the plants needs are before switching to coco, you have to be point on with nutes from day one as coco doesn't contain anything beneficial. plus you will be using more nutes more money that's an issue for me I started growing to save money so I gut wrench at any extra cost. lol I use fox farm nutes the trio to begin with last me 2 or more grows for the most part big bloom is used more so I only get a grow maybe a grow and a half for 4 or 5 plants. I use plant height and or root growth to tell me when to transplant if roots are growing crazy out the bottom I will transplant before they lock up I prefer to wait until 5 or 6 nodes tho because I start topping and training between 5 and 8 nodes so I transplant at 5 give it a week or two to get adjusted from the transplant before I start topping and training. and I usually skip the 3 gallon so I can start training in my finishing pot. 30% perlite would be sufficient.
