in one word, no. Best idea in the vid is to collect rain water. (remember!) Real food is your light, «nutrients» are only minerals that support the growth. Their is no such thing as magic booster. Key is availability at the right time and balance in your soil. Also growing outside even in containers is a total different game than inside, as the rain would frequently naturally flush your soil and the power of sun is nothing comparable to a grow light. (More light, more transpiration, more growth, so greater needs for minerals. Still, nothing wrong using rock phosphate to build a balanced soil or to correct quickly a deficiency. Been using Potassium Sulfate in both these scenario with great results. Hope this help!
