I have been thinking more about what I'd do for a SOG and thought I'd throw a plan out and see what y'all think. It's really just expanding on what I used to do during cloning. Once I have clones rooted in rockwool cubes, I transfer them to 2 litre milk cartons to veg for a week or two. Move to 12/12 and let grow. Prepare a shallow storage bin/tupperware container (maybe 6-10" deep) by securing a screen a few inches from the top and covering it with a layer of pearlite. When I think the roots will have started to pile up on the bottom of the cartons, cut access holes and place in the storage bin to allow further root growth. Here's a pic: I hope for some criticism of the ideas... for instance, should I just have the whole storage bin filled with pearlite instead of rigging a screen? When trying a SOG, should you FIM? And what does FIM stand for? I know what it means, I just don't know what F - I - M abbreviates. Peace E4A2S
I'm not sure why you use that method, but try not to let the nutes stagnate, for a SOG I just try for 1 good cola per plant, I heard FIM = fuck i missed, as in when topping, good luck
Because I like to make things complicated, really. I don't think I have ever given plants enough growing medium to be comfy. I believe the vermiculite and water would provide more room for the roots to grow down into. The space I'm looking at is roughly four feet vertical growing space but 2' by 1 3/4' side to side, so I have room to go down, but not out. Perhaps someone could recommend more practical soultions. First off, the screen would be a pain, wouldn't it? Yeah... scrap the screen. I'd just fill the thing with pearlite, that way, I wouldn't need to bubble the nutrient solution. Hmmm... E4A2S
