Pistils question..

Discussion in 'First Time Marijuana Growers' started by newfie709, Aug 10, 2023.

  1. Ok, so my amnesia haze been flowering now for roughly 11 weeks, every time I think she's close to finishing she keeps tossing new white pistils, trichomes are all pretty much cloudy with about a small percentage of amber..im not picky over which side of the high i get as I normally enjoy either..lol..it all helps me get through my day..we did have a pretty nasty heat wave that lasted about 2/3 weeks and my humidity was hitting 85- 90%..any input would be helpful..and ffs its not letting me upload pics again today, ill try again later

  2. Weird how it does that. I wanted to post 3 pictures the other day and it only let me post one. LOL
Please keep the stone throws to a minimum, but I haven't used a loupe in years and honestly can't tell the difference between my bud and others. But yeah bro if it's still kickin' out white hairs, keep on keepin' on. Wait until all those pistils have died and they are lying on the bud. I know 11 weeks seems like a lot, but with Amnesia Haze being a sativa dominant plant, could go as long as 16 weeks. It's the indicas that are typically a shorter run.
Trust me I can't tell you how many times I've said, "If I had just waited a couple more weeks!" Patience is key. Peace :)

  4. if you have ever picked apples you know not all apples ripen at once
and yes the sweetest are always sun facing at the top
its the same with weed for that I always recommend growers rotate their pots daily even in a grow tent
harvesting now you will note for the next grow with the same strain to harvest later or earlier than present

my rule is more than 50% trics ready(white or amber) = Harvest

    good luck

  5. Well thats where im stuck at now, all my trics are cloudy/amber but still fresh new pistils, so imma let her go another lil bit just to see where it goes(my first post i said 11 weeks, but looking over my notes its actually 12 almost 13 weeks) my temps and humidity been horrible this last lil while, I honestly think I may have a bit of fox tail going on on a few buds as well..nothing major but it dont look like the normal fattening up I expect to see..and like I said its my first run of a sativa strain so im not quite sure what to expect..trail and error at this point..lol..I just don't like the error part..bahaha..thanks vee!

Those Haze strains have very long flower times. My last grow of Liberty Haze was done at around 15-16 weeks. They were also throwing fresh pistils as late as 12-13 weeks. It was good stuff though. You need to be careful and attentive when it comes to super high humidity, which could cause a bad case of bud rot. If any parts of the bud look dried out, brown and crispy that is where the bud rot lives. If you do end up noticing any bud rot, I would inspect and throw out the effected areas and harvest asap.

  7. Yes, that was my main concern, I lost a few good colas last year to bud rot from humidity, I decided then I wasn't gonna grow in the hotter months, but I had to be away for some time during the spring and didn't get a chance to get a harvest in, my temps/humidity are back under control and all seems well for the time being..im gonna keep pushing her through with a close eye..thanks

  8. Buds keep getting bigger:eek:, some would love to have that problem. 15- 16 wks does seem excessive. another reason why other than genetics?
