Pin holes in my flex duct

Discussion in 'Grow Room Design/Setup' started by vashigopal, May 7, 2011.

  1. I bought some flex duct from HTG about a year ago and I just noticed, when I was holding the duct a certain way, that there were pin holes along the creases. So I figured I had overused that piece, and I took out a fresh, unused piece, and there were pin holes in it, too! Is this normal? I guess I have to tape it with aluminum tape?

They are not holes, just some clear plastic. For some reason coat of "silver" does not cover the whole duct completely. I have a same thing as well...no air leaks.

YAY! Thank you!! Now that you've pointed this out, I think the sliver comes off along the creases during manufacture, because they have to coat it before they crease it.
