Pilonidal Cyst, holy shit

  1. I found out like last week I have a Pilonidal Cyst. I've noticed it there for about a year now, but I just figured it was part of my tailbone or something. If you don't know what it is, it's like an oval lump under your skin right at the start of your ass crack, haha. Hurts like hell.. mine does anyway

But I just got back in college, and I was sitting in those crappy desks schools have, and it must have popped or something. Because from that day on I have been in incredible pain. I can't even walk 2 steps without feeling excruciatingly pain. I can't sit right on any surface. The only semi-comfortable position is laying on my stomach, and that isn't saying a lot.

The only cure is surgery  I just got finished shaving my ass, lol, to make it pretty for the doctor.

Apparently if I don't get surgery I have to buy one of those donut cushions and sit on those... how fucking embarrassing is that going to be in school, wtf. And when these things pop, the odor the puss releases is really gross.

God.. just hope you never get one of these. Hopefully my bud will come in the next day or two to take my mind off this shit :(

  2. omg it hurts so bad... can't even go to sleep :(

  3. That...sucks really really bad. I hope your ass feels better soon.

As silly as I felt typing that, I do mean it ;) Here's hoping you get some smoke soon.

  4. that sux man. ill smoke a bowl for u... hope surgery goes well ... take it one step at a time.

  6. Weird i had/have(hopefully not) one of those. i just had a minor surgery since im in college with no family around to help post surgery. Tis a pain in the ass....

  7. Thanks Floyd and everyone else. :) I have good news to report! I was laying down this morning reading, and all of a sudden this cyst started draining.

This had to be the most disgusting thing i've ever seen... the fluid was dark brown/red and it smelt like some kind of bbq chicken. I'm not even joking. :O

The good news is, it's about done draining, and all the pain is gone! I think I am still going to get surgery just so I don't have to go through this again, but at least I get temporary relief. :)

  8. Man, I know what you're going through. I just recently got over a really bad Staph infection. What that is, is basically this bacteria that lives on 35% of people, but only about 2% of them ever show symptoms of it. Now, I did show some nasty symptoms because my immune system is not in a very good state. For some people, the symptoms are just discomfort or fatigue, but in some cases, people get very large and painful boils that look like a huge pimple (like 3" by 3"). That's what happened to me. I had one under each arm, one on my chest, and 3 on my back. Now, all of them were incredibly painful because the area around them was very sensitive because it was infected. So I really couldn't sit/stand/lie down/walk/move without some sort of awful pain. I wound up in the ER because I just couldn't take it anymore. What they had to do is "lance and drain" each of the boils. Now, I had no idea that "lance and drain" meant "cut open and squeeze 'till all the puss is out". Well, that's what they did. They did inject a little novacaine though, which only numbs the surface, so it didn't really do any good for me because these things go about 2 inches down into the skin. So six times they had to inject novacaine (which is very painful because it burns going in) and cut/squeeze until I was bleeding all over. Not the best thing thats ever happened. After that though, they had to "pack" them all up so they wouldn't close and just start over again. So by now all the novacaine has worn off and this woman is standing over me with a pair of tweezers and some gauze, just shoving it in all these painful open holes on my body. It really sucked hard.

After that though, everything was a lot better. Just walking out of there I felt so good I was almost jumping. Now, it's been almost a week and all the holes are closed and don't hurt at all. It's a good feeling.

I'm sure they'll put you out for what you've got though. If it's deep under the skin, they won't cut you while you're awake. Good luck though. Just remember, it's going to be worth it in the end.

  9. I love popping zits when i get them. I know its taboo but i just can't resist!

  10. I use to Milk Cows for a year, sometimes they would get cysts on their legs. We'd take a razer blade and slice it open when it got too big. Man thats disgusting. Blood and puss just like sprays everywhere.

  11. I have one of them too, doesn't hurt me though, isn't much of anything actually. Hopefully it doesn't escalate to what you're describing it to be, but that's what my doctor told me could happen. He told me as soon as it started to hurt to come back in so they could give me surgery, he said it was too small right now to operate.

I only went to the doctor because I thought I had a tumor or some shit, but luckily it was jus this shit. Even tohugh it sucks, I'm glad I don't have some malignant shit on me.

  12. Haha yeah. The bad thing is they never go away if you don't get surgery, so there is always the risk of it flaring up again. I'm completely back to normal now though, can't even feel any lump or anything.

That story sounds extremely painful TheMuteIsDead... I can barely imagine doing that for 1, let alone 6. :O

The worst part is, my bud still isn't here, and I've been dry close to 2 months now. =/ Oh well, at least I've learned I can get through things without MJ.

  13. so you basically have a tail? ;)

  14. I wish that's what it was, that'd be fuckin sweet.

  15. That sucks bro, the biggest problem with surgery on a p cyst is that it has to heal from the inside out meaning that your gonna have to have someone stuff gauze and shit all up in your ass everyday untill it heals, which is a while. (and hurts like a bitch)

  16. Still haven't gone through with the surgery yet. I have to get established here with a family practice doctor or something before they can recommend me to a surgeon. So I'm doing that next Monday.

Fuck that though, my 21st birthday is coming up on the 16th, so I'm not gonna do anything until after that haha. Maybe i'll just leave it alone =/ it doesn't hurt at all anymore

  17. ahahahah that is so perfect, plus rep for pulling that up

"There is no god, I have a hemeroid, and Cartman has a theme park"

"but theres so many lines, lines, LINES!"

  18. Dude, I caught mine early. I've had two of them, it's crazy shit. The first one I caught after two weeks, when the painw as so bad I coulnd't sleep. In had to go to the ER and get cut open, jesus christ that was the worst smell ever.

My heart's out for you bro, for sure.

  19. They suck, my doctor guy said they often times come back until you are 35. Im at college so it would have been weird to ask my roommate or some on else here to redo my bandages so they just did a minor surgery. but its a bitch. a super annoying some what painful disgusting bitch.

  20. Hey Cyric,

I've had a pilonidal cyst for years and had multiple surgeries to have it removed (still got it). It is VERY FUCKING IMPORTANT that you follow ALL of the aftercare instructions, improve your diet, and get exercise. You can actually live with it without getting it excised if you methodically keep your ass clean (like, more attention than you pay your baby buds). Although, if you have an internal buildup of tissue -- usually hair follicles -- you may not have an option. If you have a strong body, get the surgery and take proper care of yourself. I have the misfortune of a poor immune and was never able to heal properly (after 3 surgeries). I have what is akin to a sinus (ie, nose) in my ass crack with a constant mild infection. A pilonidal can be extremely taxing physically and mentally. Get it taken care of the right way, the first time.

Best wishes to you man, I know the pain.
