    It looks like just a mask to hide his face. It's definitely not a gas mask. That's about all I can tell ya though.

    Maybe it's a plastic mask and he has a joint underneath?

    Gas masks
    They can be used with bongs and other smoking devices I think

    At my head shop the sell gas masks but instead of a traditional air filer there is a bong I'm not sure what it's called

    ^ that's what mine are too. They get you high as balls just make sure you close your eyes.
