Pictures on myspace probable cause to search house?

Discussion in 'Seasoned Marijuana Users' started by shane_bird, Jan 25, 2010.

  1. I recently started an album on myspace dedicated to my pickups so I could show some of my friends them. Someone sent me a message saying their friend is a cop and is doing a investigation now because the pictures are probable cause to search my home. I was wondering if this is even possible? but since then I've taken the pictures down just in case.

  2. Not 100% sure, but that sure is a sketchy scenario! Keep us posted!

  3. I'm pretty sure posting pics like that will give the cop probable cause to put a bullet in your head on sight. I'm not 100% sure though. I'd wear a kevlar helmet from now on to be safe.

  4. hahhah

    I will

  5. why would you do something stupid like that?

  6. pretty much the same reason why people post their pick-ups on this site

  7. Maybe he just wants people to know that smokin' the reefer is the greatest thing you could be doin. Hahaha.

  8. nah see the thing is the servers of the GC site are in the netherlands which means U.S. cops cant do shit. plus no one on this site is gonna rat you out

ive seen way to many people get busted like this, and yeah those pictures are probably cause. its a picture of drugs

picture=evidence especially if your postin it from YOUR myspace

  9. But on here 90 percent of us are down with the weed smoking. On myspace it takes one douche to call the cops and say, "There is a dope smoker posting his drugs on his myspace."

Also, here you don't have people who know you personally.

  10. alright yea that makes sense
im definitely not doing that again

  11. why would you even post pics like that on myspace, facebook or anything like that..... just tell your friends to go to grasscity and make an account so you don't post pics with weed under your name thats open to the public... but yea thats probable cause, atleast i think so. Pictures of you doing incriminating things could be used against ya. and becareful usual when they look for these kind of things they save the picture as soon as the comeupon it, and even though you might have taken them down they might still have the copies. Good luck

  12. Why take pictures to show your friends in the first place.

I mean unless you have a lot of out of state buddies, wouldn't it make more sense for your friends to just come over and check your shit out rather than using myspace?

  13. even if you post pics they have no proof the buds in your house so no thats not enough probable cause

  14. Here's the deal man. It's not up to some random officer whether or not you get investigated for the pics. I've had law classes with the a State Prosecuting attorney and a District attorney and I know for a fact that most likely they will not try to use it against you. Just STOP posting pics NOW!
Apparently the same thing happened with underage drinking and pics of bud where I'm at, and when asked the DA said it wasn't worth the time.(He actually told the class this)

  15. i know how cool pictures of weed are but think about it man. myspace isn't anonymous. the whole point is that it's you sharing your information with people. posting pictures of your illegal activity on there is just begging for trouble.

I know that a cop can get a warrant for it..... A while ago a guy was arrested. The cops used pictures and videos he posted on myspace to search the house

  17. I don't know, maybe It's cuz I'm old school and have paid the fiddler a few times. The older heads that took me under their wing in the late 70's and early 80's always said run silent, run deep. There is no reason to show your shit on the internet, just doesn't make since. now reason to show off the buds unless your looking for attention.

and i know my spelling sucks.

  18. Interesting......I always posted pictures of herb because I think it's beautiful and people appreciate beautiful things. I guess I never thought about looking for attention since no one on this site actually knows who I am. I gain nothing from posting pictures, I just like knowing that people enjoyed looking at the pictures I take of the wonderful herb known as Cannabis.
    Thanks for your input though.:)

  19. Yup... I can add some personal experience too.

I was arrested for trafficking back in April. I'll spare you the details but I used to post pickups here in the Stash Jar. None of those pictures were used as evidence despite the fact that they had the originals from seizing my laptop.

You can't convict someone for pictures... only possession.. or in some states attempt or conspiracy to possess. Nothing on the books about past possession with documentation.

  20. Thats cool, maybe I'm being a little to harsh with the show off thing, I should have rolled that one around in my head a few times befor I said it. I have gotten in trouble for some stupid shit. These younger cats could use a little better judgment. I don't know too much about the internet police and how they work. People have been screwed via the net. just food for thought.:smoking:
