  1. I took these pics 3 days ago and am just getting around to posting them.
These plants were planted 2 weeks and 3 days ago at time of pics.

The seeds germed to long and I was putting them in the pots when the taproots were anywhere from 2 to 3 1/2 inches long with the unfolding sprout above soil line.

They were planted in FF ocean with about an inch to 1 1/2 inches of gravel in the bottom and perlite added to the FF. The pot at the far right has much less perlite than the others and is the slowest at showing the yellow leaves.

The yellowing is occuring first on the first pair of fan leaves, then after awhile the second set starts showing yellow.

The affected leaves become dry and brittle and will break off and crumble between the fingers.

Could this be a heat issue?

I started moving my temp probe around and found that the temps at the left of the light are 10 or more degrees hotter than at the far right.
The affected leaves become increasingly worse from right to left.

I've added another fan to correct that problem.

    No nutes yet, just water.

    Help, please!

  2. This is just a shot in the dark but how's your pH?

It doesn't sound like a temperature or drainage issue. Wish I could be more help . I know I've had this happen to my plants, though at about 3 weeks later in veg, I just can't remember for sure what the solution was.

  3. I think you are watering too much
all plants get ellow leaves if they get overwatered

  4. Don't think I'm overwatering. Just the opposite, my plants are drooping a little before I water.
As for the ph, this is a soil grow and I'm not sure where to begin. Any easy and inexpensive method would be greatly appreciated.

It's been days now since I first posted this and they keep on growing, but the yellow continues to expand on the lower leaves.
I have noticed that the edges show the yellow first.

    Anyone else with some suggestions??

  5. some people have problems with FF soil b/c it can burn seedlings

  6. for the ph just buy yourself a cheapy reuseable probe ph meter from a hardward/garden center. this will do the job just fine (under £10) dont bother with the one use ph meters since you will be wasting money

  7. this happened with mine n if u look ur leaf is touchin the soil, i was told when watering them if u wet the leaves they will burn under the heat.. maybe not the answer but a possibility

  8. Leaves turning up forming a cone lengthwise? Plants not transpiring?

  9. There is some slight turning up of leaves forming cone, very slight.
Don't know exactly what you mean by transpiring.

  10. A good PH and a CF/TDS meter are probably the 2 best tools a grower can have. It takes the guess work out of problems like you have.

To test for soil PH, water the plant and collect the runoff, test the runoff. This will give you the soil PH, you can also test it with the TDS/CF meter and see if you need to feed or hold back..

    No more guesswork..

If all is fine with PH and CF u need to look at environment or pests..

    Max.

  11. Looks like a lack of Nitrogen... u can start using veg nutes now (if your not)
this problem can be fixed in just a couple days...

  12. Youe plants are showing some heat stress not much, no worries... I am not experianced with soil and I dont know what your using but it does look like N def. Ph may have caused this, make sure your ph is correct and flush then give them 25% nute mix with a high N...Best I can do man.... hope this helps
