Picking Up Fat

    So my friend texts me out of the blue and we make small talk and I ask him when we are going to smoke one he tells me that hes going to pick up a half oz and sell/smoke it. I tell him lets go half on a full oz and hes for it and tells me I can pick up my half and drop half of the money off when he gets it on Saturday. My worry is that what if he charges me more than what he got for it. Is there anything I can tell him so I dont get ripped off; not really worried about the weed itself cause I have a pocket scale.

    Not much more than "don't rip me off" lol. If he's going to do that he'll probably just say the ounce was 300 when it was really 260 or whatever. There's no real knowing unless you go with him. A lot of dealers wont like a new guy showing up at his house without warning though, especially if your friend isn't friends with the dealer.

    Since you posted you have some doubt. That's why buying drugs on the black market can be risky. You will be okay. Bought before.

    Dude if you are happy with what he tells you that you owe him then its all good. If you feel like hes trying to tax you, politely say you disagree on the price and leave.

    If he rises the price up a bit, and the half is too pricey for you - don't buy it.

    If he rises the price up a bit, and you're still OK with paying that ammt for the half - buy it.

    That simple. If you dont think the 1/2 is worth it, its not worth it to you - and that's your issue. You want your moneys worth - him adding 10 or 20 bucks to make a profit off you makes it seem like the purchase isn't

    IF hes a bad buddy and rises the price a bit, think of it as the cost of procurement : Can you pick up a half of bud on your own for cheaper?

    Also, get a cost from him NOW before he buys : ask for a 'quote' :D

    Yeah, like others are suggesting, just ask him how much it would cost before you buy it. From there you can decide if the price is fair or not. Good luck OP.

    He is picking it up, he is transporting it, he is taking the risk. Seems to me that he is allowed to make his his portion marginally cheaper. But lets be honest, if we are questioning friendship quality, shouldn't you offer him a couple bucks for his troubles?

    ^ actually he told me to come to his house to pick it up and he was already taking a risk cause he was picking up a half oz anyway

    I told him to not skimp me and asked him how much the oz was going to be no response yet though.

    Actually, it is a bigger risk. Its good to kick back something to the person that picks up regardless of risk though; its just courteous.

    But....

    What if someone weighs him fat, 30 grams.

    Oh look, he's carrying/possession over an ounce...

    Yea I understand that but everyone takes a risk when they light up the ganja unless you have your green card or in a place where its legal

    You're in SoCal. Under an ounce laws dont do much; no one gives a shit anyways.

    Hence his risk is substantially greater than yours, buying and transporting what could be more than ounce

    Well he said it was 80 for my half so im guessing the whole oz was 160 which is really cheap. I asked if it was schwag and his dealer said it isnt.

    Where do you live. Your only buyin a half oz so at most it should be 180 if your on the east coast.
