Physics cards

  1. Hello folks, recently I have been looking at getting a new comp, and I have been browsing through these cards.

I'm wondering if it is a better idea to get an an average graphics card and physics card, or try to get a beefy graphics card or run an SLI configuration.

anyone have any first hand experience as to how effective or useful a physics card is?

  2. What will you use it for?

99% of computer applications will not use a PhysX card. However if 99% of your computer time will be in a game or program that uses it, it might be worth it. Research your specific games/applications before buying one of those.

IMO a single graphics card is enough for all but the most intense gaming/graphic design/CAD work.

  3. Agreed. Also, SLI isn't supported by some programs/games and can actually cause problems with some things. Do your research and you should be fine:)
