What the hell am I looking at?

    Jizz-Ghosts?

  5. Your looking at a Non-Newtonian fluid in a sub woofer :)

  6. Oh shit! You don't say!

  7. He does say..

  8. A non-newtonian fluid on a speaker.

It's oobleck, aka cornstarch mixed with water. it's a lot of fun to play with. Try it, and you'll see why.

Someone put it on a speaker and turned the speaker on.

  9. Yep, i say.. :)

  10. I'm taking astronomy next semester have any of u taken that class in college yet

    Blaze my *****ss

  11. Yes. Best class to go stoned too. Some of the technical shit can get boring (calculating size and distance of stars from earth) but going to the planetarium was beast.:smoking:

  12. I'm in astronomy

  13. ive seen this stuff before..
    what is this?

  14. Electro-magnetic fluid or some shit.

That is so cool. I think its too easy for almost everyone to imaging the rotation around the sun as a stationary object. Even as an astronomy minor I find it hard to remember. But this.... this will stay with me.
I looked up it the directions of the motions was right and I think it is. The sun moves in the disk of the galaxy, with our solar system 60degrees from the plane of the disk - which is approximately what is seen in the gif.

  19. Yes! Once I realized EXACTLY what I was looking at, it hit me as to how fucking crazy that is.

The Sun is hurling through the galaxy in an orbit, while all of the other planets and even their moons are being pulled AND they still revolve! WTF?!
