So I'm ordering seeds tonight. Im going to be moving into a single tent instead of having two rooms. I know it sucks. I'm torn between going photo or auto. I prefer to have a perpetual grow that way I can constantly harvest and have a wide variety in the process. I'm thinking I'll run a few autos while I veg a photo or two. Anyone else do this? Any advice? Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum
Yes we do. I grow autos and veg photos to set outside to flower. Really should just run photos that way. But I got in the comp grows from the vault and glad I did Sent from my SM-G935T using Tapatalk
You need to figure out if you're going to have a 12-hour light station to flower and a 20-hour light station for Autos or if the Autos will be done when you're ready to flip the photos that can be done also Sent from my SM-G935T using Tapatalk
I have a 12/12 tent and 24/0 tent. One is for flowering and the other for vegging. In the vegging tent I usually have either some rooting clones or small plants vegging. As both tents are the same size there is usually some spare space in the vegging tent. So I always have a few autos growing in there. They do really well in 24/0, but the light cycle never changes, yours will and autos don't do very well on 12/12
Run those autos 24/0 germ to harvest. If you want perpetual plant one seed a month harvest one plant per month. 2 rooms go photo. One room go auto. No brainer. tip: you raise and lower the plants not the light.
Thank you guys for the feedback! Im going to grow some quick autos while I veg a photo or two and then once I harvest the autos I'm going to flip the lights for my photo. And then I'll set up a small germ box to start auto over again a few days before my photos harvest. Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum

Start your photos and have them vegging with your autos. Whenever your autos finish, then flip your photos to flower. Then start over.
Autos can take 3 months from hatch to harvest and a 3 month old photo would be absolutely massive so be careful with your timing. Doing it this way may not give you extra bud when you factor everything in how long you'll have to hold back germination times. You might be better off sticking to autos exclusively, but worth trying both ways to see how you prefer it
If I was stuck in one space again, I would do all autos personally. If I didn't have my photo tent that's what I would be doing. I veg my photos and grow my autos on 18/6 to conserve a little bit of power costs, but if power wasn't a concern, they'd be 24/0.
Do you guys have recommendations on strains and breeders for A) smaller plants that yield high I can stack 10 together for a SOG B) taller bigger autos that yield high where I can do like 4 in a tent? Haven't how I want to do this quite yet. Can I yield as much from 10 smaller plants as 4 bigger plants? Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum
Right now I have “blue amnesia xxl, blue diesel, chocolate skunk, bubble gum, cheese berry, blackberry, deez nugs, blueberry, big bud, northern lights x big bud” going and out of those the blackberry from fastbuds is performing the best for a SOG setup. Didn’t do any training and I have long tall shoots that appear to be budding down the entire first 3/4ths of the stem. Can’t wait to see how it does. As far as height, the bubble gum is by far the lankiest plants I’ve grown. It’s from 00 seeds I believe. Had to tie the branches flat and they still grew to twice the height as my other plants. The blue strains are quite bushy as is the amnesia xxl.
I totally underestimated my 135w 3000k at 18 inches. Had to raise it way up. The only green leaves I have left are those that haven't yet seen the light. I could turn it down I suppose, but then I'd have to do a google search to find the best screwdriver.
Cool ok. I'd go with 4 autos in 20-30 litre pots. Fitting 10 just wouldn't work, it's hard to control the size of autos. I guess you could probably squeeze 9 in there in maybe 10 litre pots but they'd become pot bound and you'd probably have to water them everyday. It's an option though but my recommendation is 4 as they will be much easier to look after therefore more likely to finish healthy and that means quality at the end. 4 will fill that space easily anyway and the yield will likely be pretty similar either way
Holy shite! Well if I'm getting plants that size it sounds like 4 is the way to go. Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum
Definitely!! Would a 5 gallon fabric pot be sufficient from seed to harvest? Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum
