well this assignment turned out pretty well. We had to make a self portrait that showed a dependence on nature. Well the obvious choice would have been me with my herb, but I decided against that and on the last day thought of this composition, took about twenty shots and got this one. We also had to do some editing in photoshop so I just redrew the entire scene, cheating by just tracing and sampling the colors. Hey, I only had one day to do it, otherwise, I'd have done it right
I redrew it by hand with a tablet, there's no filters for that effect in photoshop. Closest thing is posterize i guess. hmm I think I agree with you both durchii an ktwizzy, I should lose the lines around my beard and eyebrows or at least make them a lot thinner. The economy of color is always import, less is more. I tried to show some of the color bouncing off of other objects so i used more hues than I should have. My face was giving me problems for the amount of time I had to work on it. the container on the left is colored exactly how I wanted the rest of the piece to be, but I couldn't get that simplicity overall.
yeah the container looks great. and hues was the word i was lookin for, i just couldnt think of it. i think we all know why....
yeah due to time constraints I didn't have time to redraw and color it freehand. This piece is just an exercise of elaborate tracing heres no lines in the face
