Phosphorus defeciency ? Or CalMag deficiency ?

Discussion in 'First Time Marijuana Growers' started by Greenthumbtress, Mar 11, 2022.

  1. Need a second opinion on what may be going on. I have two Death Star photos currently in the bottom of week 6 Flower..
Started seeing small rust like spots round Week 5 on like a random two or three fan leaves. Also noticed after a feed there was minor tip burn. Which they seem to have bounced back from but then I ran into a couple leaves turning yellowish in the veins accompanied by what looks like bleeding or reddish stems? It’s inconsistent so I dunno what to think. Maybe a phosphorus deficiency being that I’ve been feeding BLOOM nutrients and now that we’re closer to harvest maybe the girls are asking for some more P? Or Maybe my girls need to be supplemented with calMag?

    for extra context :
-Im growing in roots organic soil
-Im feeding every other watering. And then watering at ph 6.3-6.4. Usually my soil run off Ph is in between 6.2-6.45.
-using Advanced nutrients Sensi Bloom A+B 36 ML of both to 9L of water
    - I DECHLORINATE MY WATER FOR NO LESS THAN 20-24 hours. (I promise I’m not screaming lol !)
-Bud candy which is food for the microbes @ 18ML /9L
And just recently introduced Overdrive 18 mL/9L which is a let phase ripener/ weight gainer that’s a 1-5-4 :confusedalt:

Much love and thanks to all in advance
    Kay

  2. i just had an epiphany :’(

maybe it’s a freaking potassium toxicity since I’ve been over f**cking feeding that ish and maybe it has caused nutrient lock out due to over feeding potash :( please help your girl out

  3. chill your ok,you have gave um a headache with worry,my thought,if you want it.
you just introduced the over drive and you even documented the NPK values,go back and read what you wrote ,isnt the over drive what you thought you need ?
so then you got a few leaves jacked a bit,so stop the over drive, your plants look great and your to close to try any magic elixers on it.
what i sugest because you are in good soil is try instead of the boasters mix 1 tbsp of epsom salt to a gallon of water and give your plant a asprin, cause that what epsom does it also adds little sulfur.
dont continue to use it if you do about once a month, but give it a drink of epsom and go back to your feeding program minus the over drive, beside that why try to fatten them up,they do it by themself in last 2 weeks,i got to say im impressed with your grow i dont see any tip burn from my angle like most growers have at this point. do you have the plants off the floor ? is it cold there? that can cause red stems to.
anyway hope it helps if you give a try, epsome salt has been a go to for decades at least from me,when im at a point i dont think it would help i foiler spray some sick plants with it,you cant in flower.
but hey hey great looking grow and it almost party time

  4. whats the runoff ppm? that will tell you if you are toxic or hungry

  5. It was reading at 1008 last watering

  6. to me thats not terrible my runoff is like 800 to 1000 but you cant always trust runoff just stick with your program maybe feed every third watering thats what i do feed only once every nine or ten days

  8. thanks so much ! I appreciate it ! I always seek that second opinion because it’s my first grow and Im learning as I go! I’m so proud of them they are my babies! They look massive and just beautiful you’re totally right I’m gonna go ahead and lay off the overdrive and continue my feed without it through week 6

i only added overdrive because that was part of my intended feeding plan. But being that I’m already fertilizing with a 2-4-8 and a 3-0-0 adding overdrives gonna add way too much PK.
Im in the east coast so it can get chilly and my plants are in fabric pots I’ve included pictures. I’ was thinking of supplementing with roots organic calmag since it has 4% sulfur and I’ll take your word for the epsom salt.

    thanks for your time !!

  9. Wow ! Looks amazing ! They look really good what are you growing ?

  10. Im considering holding off my next feeding and just watering. But it might only give me time to feed one more time before I start flushing.. any thoughts?

I wouldn't worry about it that far into flowering, just keep feeding them and let the buds grows, I'm feeding my death star just maxibloom and it's been flowering for 38 days. Screenshot_20220311-191325.png Screenshot_20220311-191316.png

  12. 2-4-8 and a 3-0-0 is a 5-4-8 a bit much nitrogen for flower i use a 1-4-7 with added molasses and banana tea cut out the 3-0-0 its not good for flower IMO

  13. i see a lot of white dots i would check for mites just in case otherwise looking good

  14. Nice! Is that only one plant ? They look really icy and chunky. Mine are 40 days into flowering it’s amAzing what 15 days can do I’ll take your advice.

  15. Hmm , would it still work? Sensi blooms a two part fertilizer and there’s some boloney on the instructions that states to use both parts ?
Im honestly thinking about skipping a feed and just watering.. and halfing the nutes when I do feed again.

  16. Yes it's just one plant I grew, and used feminized Jedi glue to pollinate her so I will get Jedi death star seeds from her in a few more weeks.

  17. Your plant looks ok, the tips of leaves are just a little nutrient burn, as far as that Rusty spot on your leave could be so many different things, from what I see there's nothing to worry about. The red stem on fan leaves could just be in the genetics. Just keep doing what you are doing and things will turn out ok.

My mistake my plant has been flowering for 38 days today, and pollinated 22 day's ago.and seed sprouted 77 days ago. I keep track of everything in the grow journal so I can go back and look at things to know how other plants are growing by looks at other grows.

  20. OFCOURSE !! I knew I recognized your name man but once you said 55 days I. Flower I thought hey it might be someone else growing desthstar with us  !! How are they coming along since pollination they look heavy !!

As for the rust spots maybe i can give extra details:
So those rust spots are on my tallest cola and i would say it’s only on those new growth leaves. Before I show y’all it let me just say I’ve done nothing extra nor special to her. This is literally how she popped off :inlove: but she is the closest branch actually reaching for my light :coolalt::coolalt: i thought maybe it could’ve been some light stress ? Thoughts ?
