Hey so since may I've been in Japan hardly smoking (maybe like 1x a month) and been going to Temple's Japan Campus. Anyways this summer I'll probably be moving back to the US and working in Phili for the summer and then going to the main campus in the fall. Anyways I was wondering how the weed situation is in Phili? Examples of prices headies & midis. Also I looked on NORML.com and the laws seemed really strict under 30g was a 500$ fine and then paraphanelia they really fucked you like 2500$ fine. So are these laws actually realistic? Like is this what they actually do? If so maybe I will stick to not buying often and just smoking once in a while because those laws seem really strict. If they really are that bad it sucks cause I was psyched to move back to the US this summer and be able to smoke again. Thanks in advance for any help. If its on norml then Im sure its legitimate. Besides the paraphanelia punishment, the laws are more leniant than here in MI. Also remember that those are the MAX consequences, not necessarily what you would receive.
I lived 5 minutes outside Philly my whole life. I can't really tell you about the laws from experience, because my friends and I have never been caught. However, Philly is a fairly safe place for drugs. Like all major cities, the cops have better things to do then bust stoners all day. Once you find a dealer, just stay smart. It's like living anywhere else in the US. Don't carry a lot on you, don't trust people you don't know, and just keep an eye out for the 5-0.
I've lived in/around Philly for almost my entire life (I'm 23 now), and I know it's laws pretty good... Up to 30 grams is a misdomenor... Depending on what township/district you live in, they'll punish it different ways... I've been caught a few times (possession and paraphenellia) and only got Summery Offence charges (like a traffic ticket)... One fine ran me about $350 (for possession), and the other two (the para. charges) were around $100. I also got caught with paraphenellia, and they actually charged me. My punishment was a year of ARD (non-reportive probation... if you mess up within a year they officially charge/try you, and if you don't it's off your record forever), and court costs (about $700). It's not so bad, really. PA is fairly lenient when it comes to MJ (again, depending on where exactly you live). Philly - as far as finding weed is concerned - is fairly easy. Depending on where at in the city you're looking at living, it's usually as easy as just asking some people walking around, or standing on a corner. Just a fair warning, though, Temple is in one of the worst parts of Philly (Germantown, in North Philly) - so make sure to travel in groups if you go outside the main campus, or you will get jumped and/or robbed. If you need any spots, I can point you in the right direction (they change constantly, but usually stay within a few blocks of eachother) if you don't mind goin into gang neighborhoods and whatnot. EDIT: You gotta be careful in the ghetto, or in busy areas like South Street... Lots of undercovers.
