I don't believe you can get an accurate reading. I've used it in chemistry for titrating before, it turns pink in basic solutions but remains clear in acidic solutions. I think you're best off buying a tester.

 

Way to large of a spectrum.. Get a kit from a petstore or something or a digital meter..
