does anyone know anything about phing water for outdoor plants? I bought chemical drip test from walmart, says my tap water is 7.5.. should I try to lower that some?
Def lower it to around 6.5, unless ur soil ph is low, that gives u some buffer room because at diff ph levels ur plant can't absorb some nutes, when watering w/ or w/out nutes u want it to be around 6.4-6.7 before it touches ur plant Good luck
so how do I check the ph of my soil and can I use test strips or the walmart acid drip test to do so?
So I went to the hydro shop and bought some ph down, got some free test strips.. test strips are giving me same result as acid test so I think I will wait until next year to get a killer ph reader because funds are low.. I have only one in the ground and 3 in 45 gallon containers.. I stuck the test strip to the moisture coming out of the hole under one pot and got a readout of right about 6.5 without changing anything I've been doing.. so that being the case should I just not try to change the ph for now because it seems my soil is at optimum ph, or should I still try to ph my water and my water with fertz mix before I feed???????
