hello everybody, im new to hydro gorws and was wonder why my ph is changing so much? when my plants where smaller the ph would pretty much remain constant 5.5-6 now it randomly drops? and another question, ive been refilling the water whenever it drops im useing drinking water from kroger in the gallons and i have been mixing about 1/2 a tlbs spoon of GH nutes. is that a good idea or not?
im not in hydro so someone with more knowledge might want to chime in, but from what ive heard in hydro if your ph is dropping drasticly then its because your plants are eating alot more nutes, there fore you should up the nutes, but if the ph is going up drasticly then your nutes are too high and the plant cant absorb it and this affects the ions in the water, but i cant be sure i read it on icmag, but what i can do is direct you to a good thread all about ph. http://forum.grasscity.com/advanced-growing-techniques/567829-ph-what-means-your-plants.html check it out, its a bit long but good info
awsome thank you i got it under contorl about an hour ago i added some nutes and toped the resivor off with some water. the ph is 5.5-6
