PH up and PH down which is which?

    hi I know it sounds stupid but I can't get my head around this! Does PH up increase the PH number e.g. From 5.5 to 6.5 or does it increase alkalinity which would lower the PH e.g. From 6.5 to 5.5? I'm confused thank you :)

    As in the liquid you can add called PH up and PH down

    PH up will raise your PH and PH down will lower it.

    The concept of up and down can be baffling . Up means an increase and down means a decrease .

    ph up is your Base- this will raise your ph. it requires a bit more than the Down to see a change but same rules apply. add the base, mix well, then recheck PH

    ph down is your Acid- this will lower your ph. a little bit goes a long way so add a drop or 2, mix then recheck before adding more.
