i work at a pet store. would ph up and down (meant for aquariums) be safe to use to ajust my plants water? http://aquariumpharm.com/products/Product.aspx?ProductID=86
Oh dear god don't do that. Please. Use something from a nutrients company. I think Advanced Nutrients has something like that. Granted, I don't tend to have troubles with my pH when I use AN, so I don't ever use anything for adjusting. I think AN has also come out with their ph PPM perfect lineup. I tried to find the link, but can't seem to locate it again. I saw it on one of the boards. That might be a good way to keep your levels in check. Really, don't use something that's for a fishtank. Does that even make sense? Would you want to smoke something that's meant to help Nemo live?
Ph solutions are nothing more than acid or alkaline; that's all. Whether it's for an aquarium or a hydroponic grow, it really doesn't matter because it's all the same stuff. And considering that fish are WAY more delicate than cannibis plants, I woud use aquarium Ph solutions with confidence in any hydro set-up. All your doing with this stuff is controling the acidity level of your nute solution, not feeding your plants. Ph solutions provide no nutritional or supplimental value to plants; they simply allow you to control to the Ph so that your plants can uptake the nutrients that you feed them.
please for your own sake, get AN up/down. its the most stable, potent up/down you can get from any nute company. go to the hydro shop....pick up a bottle of AN up/down and a bottle of GH up/down and feel how much heavier the AN is than GH. im not bashing GH but its like 90% water. i heard hearsay that AN is actually thinking about changing their ph up/down because it is so potent. you LITERALLY use it by 1 DROP at a time
