i was looking for a cheap pH meter on ebay and i ended up receiving a TDS meter. Ive done some reading about what a TDS meter is, but its not the same thing as a pH meter right? If i end up having to buy another pH meter, will this other one even be useful? great thanks for ur help!
Yup, most people go for the 2 in 1 units... Ph meter measures Ph(duh).... And a TDS meter measures the amount of Total Dissolved Solids (nutrients). It sucks that you didn't get what you paid for... On that note, make sure the TDS meter has temperature compensation, I'm not sure what temperature will affect your reading, but I've always been told it's important.
