Looking for a recommendation for an all in 1 device that’s not over the top expensive for my 4 plant DWC setup. I have a webcam in my tent and I’m looking for something that will display temperature (for the water) and pH at the same time so that if I’m away I can monitor and message someone if needed. I’ve not been able to find something that has multiple readings displayed at once, but I’m also not familiar with the brands/devices.
I have a couple ph monitors my Milwaukee instruments ones $87 don't display temperature but could be paired with an inexpensive digital thermometer for your purpose, and I have a Hanna Grochek monitor that displays both ph and temp but you have to toggle through screens for ec and tds $200 Bluelab is the only model im aware of that displays all on one screen. $500
Thanks. What’s the Grocheck model? I don’t mind cycling through EC and TDS if needed. If I’m not home chances are those are going to be tied to pH/temp changes anyway
Homework for you: Do a search for these companies and ask them. I use Milwaukee. Milwaukee Insturments Hanna Blue Lab
I looked, the only thing I see is the Hanna GroLine in the price range I'm looking for. The Blue Lab stuff doesn't appear to show multiple at the same time and the Milwaukee is too expensive I think.
I have several Milwaukee products. They are accurate and reliable. The company backs the equipment with great service. I feel in this case you will “get what you pay for.”
Check out Apera as well. Their PH60 probe is only $80 on amazon, the one that does EC as well is the PC60 and costs around $132. Something to keep in mind is that you'll want to store the pH probe in a storage solution, but not the EC probe. So with a multi-parameter meter, this may be a bit of a pain. Replacement probes are fairly cheap, about $30 for the pH only and $60 for the multi-parameter. Edit- Nvm, I see now you are looking for a monitor, not a pen.
I have the same one and I like it. If you want to view the values on your phone, you'll also need the Connect stick USB device and a PC connected to the Internet. I bought a $200 USB PC stick and hooked it up to a monitor in my grow room so I can have it on all the time without tying up my laptop. One thing to note is that currently the mobile app has a rounding difference to what the device and PC app use which results in the mobile app PPM not exactly matching the device display. There's a post about it here and they're supposedly working on a fix. Bluelab Guardian Connect device reading differently to the Bluelab Connect mobile app The Bluelab devices are expensive, but I think you'll be happy with your choice. I'm currently debating adding a pH controller or if it'd be better to go with the PRO or comparable doser that can also do pH.
