Gah, I hate pH meters. I bought one online and it went crazy on me in a week, just going up and down not settling. Called the company and they sent me a new one. I just got it in the mail, try to calibrate it, and it just reads 1?! Wont even move, talk about garbage. anyone have experience with this and know if it can be fixed?
Try the little pH kits. Cheaper, and no calibration. pH meters are crap. I hate them, waste of your money IMO
Ph strips are a bad idea they're nowhere near precise enough for hydro, you need a waterproof ph meter and the decent ones seem to start at ~50 on ebay. I've never re-calibrated mine and it never has more than .1 error. I nearly killed my plants because I fucked up my ph, don't skimp on the ph meter!
If your running hydro then you will need a digital meter. Hanna, although exspensive is worth it. Better than buying a shitty meter for 20 bucks less
I just had to take out the batteries and put them back in and it works correctly. Ive had multiple different meters including the blue labs PH which is the best IMO but I was short on cash this time around and decided to go with the 10$ on ebay, it actually works very well and they sent me a new one, so now i have 2 working ph meters for 10 bucks lol, worked out nicely. always remember to store the meters in calibration though, insane how the probe is fucked so easily when it dries up.
