after you've calibrated just make sure whatever water you put in is in the 6-6.9 ph, i've read they like a variety of the 6.1-6.9 range .. thats about all its good for,, but if youre using a good compost as soil it ususally stays at 6-7 because thats what all the bacteria, and microherd like the ph to be at. organics do away with them pens. but if your using hydro setup they are a must.

ec is what they base ppms on..1.0 ec is 500ppm on hanna's .5 conversion and 700ppm on a .7 conversion
