So i just bought some ph down and it says to add 1/4th table spoon in order to lower ph 1 point. My ph is sitting about 7 and i was just wondering how i would go about lowering it to the 6.4-6.8 range. And what exactly do i do in regards to actually getting it into my soil? Thanks in advance
Add a little less than 1/8 tbsp, shake/mix the water and then use your test kit to check the ph of the water. Once it's where you want it, then just water your plant. The ph is lowered/controlled by lowering the water you give the plant when you water it. Basically you can do it like this. 1) start with your water 2) Add any nutes you have one at a time and mix after each. 3) Test your ph and see where you need it to be 4) Add ph down or up (usually down since nutes tend to lower the ph) 5) test until the ph is where you want it. 6) water the plant and test the runoff after each watering to see how your ph is looking over time. You'll find after a few times doing this you'll get a feel for what's needed. It's actually really simple and can't stress enough how important it is for the ph to be in the right range. good luck.
Dont always listen to the bottle. My tap ph is at 7.0 I fill up a 5 gallon bucket with water.....and add maybe 4 drops from a syringe and my ph is already down to 6.6 A little bit goes a long way
