Ph buffering

  1. So I've been having issues with Ph rising in my wilmas. Had an algae problem, got rid of it, that want the issue. Tested my medium, Ph neutral completely, that's not the problem. I wad running canna aqua in ro water, using earth juice up/down. So I've gathered this: my rising Ph is a result of co2 off-gassing. The way the potassium bicarbonate in the earth juice's natural up react with nutrients in such a way that when the solution is allowed to just aerate, Ph rises like crazy as carbon dioxide leaves the system. so, I figure if I use poor potassium carbonate (potash) that will act better as a buffer than the bicarbonate because of the one less hydrogen atom, decreased reaction to I believe it's the magnesium in my nute mix. Anyone think this is a bad idea using pure potash? Plus it's soo cheap only 6 bucks for a pound of the stuff and from what I hear, much more stable buffer than the bicarbonate..
