But Guys, What if it turns out that I have to lower PH in my outdoor garden? I'm thinking of adding phosphoric acid to some water and watering it.
well if you are worried about it and really want to mess with it... and really really want to make your soil more acidic....... and are dying to see some ph numbers drop..... (i know i'm cheesy) espoma makes an organic product called garden sulphur for this purpose. i found some at a local gardening shop but never used any. i dont think its worth the trouble unless you are way too alkaline or something. the package says on it to sprinkle so much per square foot right on the surface, to drop the ph so much, says it takes a couple weeks to really work in your soil and that it wont burn the plants.
Thanks for the advice about, you know, reading the thread. Hey, as you've read MY post and given it the benefit of your towering intellect, I'll add lime the next time I want to adjust the ph of my ALKALINE soil. Knob.
Yep, other soft drinks too. I use it to invert sugar for my home distilling. However, as the closest ready supply of it is my hydroponics shop, it was pretty easy to put 2 and 2 together and decide it might be the acid for me in this application as well. Or maybe I should try to lower PH with lime like the clever devil above suggested.
I think that sounds like a really good suggestion. Thanks. Here's hoping they sell sulphur in Spain. + rep
