Discussion in 'Growing Marijuana Outdoors' started by Antdro707, Aug 3, 2019.

  1. lookin for some tips on pesticides to use in the so cal desert area? First time growing outdoors so not sure what to look for ,
    Any help is appreciated.

  2. How concerned are you with toxicity?
And are you "preventing" or currently "Fighting" and what kinda bugs?
How big of an area do you need to cover are we talking 12 plus foot plants?

  3. No nothing crazy, I’m indoors only right now and have only had trouble with fungus gnats in the past, to combat that I used neem oil and that’s about it. Growing in fox farm and perlite mix.
The area I plan to cover is about 5ft wide by 10ft long. As far as toxicity it don’t sound good so I would say as minimum as possible lol

  4. Oh if you got a couple plants then your using a cheap pump up sprayer . You probably pretty solid with neem oil.
Fox farm makes a product called "don't bug me" if you prefer to stick brand loyal
I wouldn't run neem oil through an atomizer is why I mentioned

  5. I was using neem oil this year first time using it outdoors I usually use avid and actinovate sp outside.
My plants there autos DO NOT like it..
Idk why but it burns the piss out if em.
I wonder if it's because the oil don't mix well with the water and the pump sprayer globs it on the leaves who knows. But I stopped using last week

  6. Ok cool I’m gonna order some more neem with the other supplies, brands don’t matter to much really but I’ll check I’m the don’t bug me out man

  7. Best of luck buddy

  8. You'll probably encounter bud worms - caterpillars that target your buds, especially the stems that supply the buds. Get BT and spray during flower. Yellow sticky cards work great.

  10. Yea I’ve seen caterpillars around my area what is BT? I mean the name so I can buy it lol

  11. bacillus thuringiensis - lots of different brands, non-toxic. It doesn't kill on contact and they have to eat it. Which means you start applying now, and shouldn't stop spraying until harvest (I stop 1-3 days before). They really are the worst pest outdoors IMO.
