Hey I have a little problem with little mini grasshoppers I attached a pic. Now, i've been using a mixture of neem oil which is 1ml of soap, 75ml neem oil, and 1 liter of water in a spray bottle but it doesn't seem to keep those damn grasshoppers off. I've also read to put a few cigarette butts in some water wait till it turns brown from the nicoteen and spray the plants with that would that work?
haha, mini grasshopper you say, thats hugge, i dont have large pest problems, and if i did i wouldnt do anything, too lazzy and too many plants for the small damage they would cause.
well considering normal grasshoppers are around 2-3 inches this one is less than 1/2 inch I consider that maybe not mini but tiny. But i'm wondering if the tobacco spray will work?
But back to the question... will the tobacco spray work and not harm the plants? Thanks. Actually I have another question which relates to the topic of pests.. um I planted 2 of my best clones in a certain spot away from all the rest and a couple weeks ago I went to the site up the mountain and discovered that one was missing, so I said shitty oh well got lots of others so I went up today and the other one was gone all that was left was the stem that was barely sticking out of the ground and looked like it was cut pretty cleanly so i'm guessing it is prolly a rabbit becuase deer or cattle would have ripped it outta the ground right? What is a good repellent for the mammal pests all i've been doin is pissing around the plants whenever I can.
OMFG!!! What could be worse than slug damage - this was a healthy little plant, consumed overnight by a voracious slug. Hope the fker got busted The rest of them are doing nice in the uk sun Not bad for 2wks (experimental outdoor crop btw & yes I know I should pot them individually!)
Don't spray anything on the plants, especially butt water. You should just water the plants a little more than usual for about a week or two and let them get much light, the plants will recover naturaly.
heres some real advice: Go to the store and get a garlic clove. Grind the garlic clove in a blender with water as the base. Then after it's all ground up put it ina spray bottle and let it sit overnight. Then the next day spray the leaves and surrounding area lightly. The garlic will keep them away.
I have what looks like a grasshopper but it is trangled and bright green. They look really weird. tried to take a picture but dam batteries are dead.
NO NO NO. Do NOT spray anything derived from tobacco on your plants, do not even smoke tobacco near them. LOTS of plants are susceptible to tobacco mosaic virus. If you want an organic pesticide click on the link in my sig below.
k i see this is a really old thread but i have just found the same bastard's.... anyone know of a soultion they where eating my whole plant i killed them all but still
