Fine, I'll look up your damn phrase, but I'll be damned if I enjoy it.

  5. ^^^ lol

i think perenial philosophy is an all encompassing philosophy about god? i remember hearing about it somewhere and liking it.

its also a book by aldous huxley.

  6. well digit, haven't read much about it yet - but a vauge short description of it basically describes my outlook on life.

i think that most religions agree on the really important stuff - don't kill, don't steal, wealth is not everything, and altere states are useful to provide insight - in the case of older, not patriarchal societies. it seems like a male father god in the sky makes a society steer away from mind altering substances.

thanks for a keyword with which to find material i will probably largely agree with. lol.

  7. but even if u don't go for the whole "god" thing, it still does its thing.

thnx. i did not know that.

  8. I don't know why it seems so unclear that perennial philosophy holds true for a lot of things, it's just that our specific culture puts up a veil for things outside of itself. Our location usually connotes our beliefs, and well we can't all live in the same place.

    too bad.

  9. i think that we are coming to a time when we will all live in the same place in a way. there are plenty of ppl here who's veiws are more in sync with mine than the ppl i live around - and u guys are from all ever, yet we are all essntially meeting here at this "place"

besides whatever ppl want to say about it what with all the porn and celebrity gossip and spam - i really think the internet and in general all sorts of advances in communication will change humantiy.

the more we realize we are so similar - the less we will b able to hate each other. how can u hate what u relate to?

if the differences between ppl have more to do with their ideas than where they live it would become less possible to have wars as we know it - because u will not b able to separate the sides by geography.

or conversely - maybe we will degenerate into a constant state of global civil war... but i don't think so.

  10. we do all live in the same place. just depends on how broad n big your perspective on it is. i mean, like, jeez, loosen up... the universe prefers us when were not so uptight.

oh the places consciousness goes. when it mixes and distant places colide we think it novel.
