Peat moss as a medium.

  1. I figure this is an advanced topic.

MJ plants like a slightly acidic soil AFAIK. And 6.8 is supposed to be the best? Since hydro grows need a 5.5-6 pH the plants' roots can tolerate a fairly acidic exposure it seems to me.

This relates to my growing current medium. 50% Peat Moss 50% perlite vermiculite. The plants are at the 6-7th set of leaves and fairly healthy if not vibrant. Peat moss has a pH of 5.1. I didn't know that when I set this up- luckily I'll have the opportunity to transplant once more.

If I was to keep on using this same type mix with ferts would it be beneficial or detrimental?

  2. I use 1 part perlite 3 parts peet, and it works fine.
