Peanut shells for compost "?"

Discussion in 'Growing Organic Marijuana' started by Ronhip, Mar 28, 2020.

  1. Anyone ever used peanut hulls in their compost?
If so, was your experience good, bad, neutral......? Recommend? Not recommend?
How long does it take this stuff to decompose?

I found a large bag of roasted, unsalted at the store and I'm sitting here looking at the mess I'm making and got to thinking..... Is it ok to throw this mess in the compost? Should I run it through the blender first? Or would I benefit more from throwing them on the floor and brush up on some achy breaky?

If not in the compost, how about mulch?

My compost is about 99% kitchen scraps, a little sea weed washed up on the beach, and a few grass/weed clippings.
