PC Grow

Discussion in 'First Time Marijuana Growers' started by Retard-3000, Jun 3, 2009.

  1. i was thinking of having a pc stealth grow in my attic but my only problem is the electricity for the light and fans, i was thinking about using a 12v battery but would that work and if it did how long would it last ? any suggestions.

  2. I'm not by any means an expert, but i think we can rule out growing from batteries. A Plant needs around 100W of CFL to grow well, a battery won't get you no where.

  3. yes i mean could u wire up the light to the battery, basically would the light work if wired up to a 12v battery (car type)?

  4. No. Sorry but that's never going to work. Why don't you chase a socket up there (or even better, get a sparky to do it!)
A wall socket is 230v (one hundred and something if you're in the States) so you can see why 12v isn't going to cut it.

If anyone wishes to provide evidence that this could be done, I'm all ears!

  5. You would need a inverter to convert from DC to AC current. Not to mention you would need to charge the battery every half hour.

  6. Thanks for the proof of concept, dawg!
