Passive or active intake?

  1. I have a grow box that is about 3 feet across, 2 feet in height, and 1.5 feet wide. I have two 120mm 79 cfm pc case fans. I will be growing one plant with cfls. Pic of box- http://img30.imageshack.us/img30/6139/1000679xn.jpg

Can anyone tell me what my best bet for venting would be? Thanks.

  2. If your going to worry about smell later down the road, I'd say passive intake(fans blowing out of the box). that way you have negative pressure and can control smell better with a carbon scrubber or whatever you chose :smoking:

  3. I am actually really interested in this subject if anyone wouldn't mind going over the pros and cons of passive and active intakes I would appreciate it

  5. Thanks for the link....and yes I am aware that google exists

  6. Thanks. How big should the hole be where the exhaust fan is? And can i just drill multiple small holes for the passive intake?

  7. your exhaust hole(s) should be only as big as your fan(s) so you dont have any air going the opposite way past them! and you can do whatever you want for intake, as long as you dont have light coming in! so multiple intakes means multiple light traps, or one big one. but then you might as well have one big intake! just remember, no light should pass through into your box
