    I knew this guy from Massachusetts and he always said "be polite pass to the right" but I actually feel insulted if someone sparks up and doesn't pass to the left

    If I pack it and no one matches, it goes to whoevers closer to me :). If someone is matching the bowl, I pass it to that person, assuming they're next to me. Can't give an exact answer cause it varies so much, we don't really have a standard side to pass it to here.

    Usually I'm never smoking with more than 3-5 people so it's all good.

    Have lived in the southeast, southwest, and New England, and pretty much always passed to the left with whoever I was toking with. Though I guess it really doesn't matter as long as you keep passing in the same direction :smoking:
