Partial Pollinate a plant indoors, anyone achieved this?

  1. Last year I grew some white widow, 4 females and one male. I just let the plants run their natural cycle and I ended up with lots and I mean LOTS of seeds. I think 95% of every bud got pollinated. And all was great because seeds were what I was after.

Anyway, my widow is a great strain. It grows hardy, healthy and seems to like it indoors and outdoors just the same. And its some knock you on your butt quality stuff.

Ive got some blue mystic females im attempting to regenerate after harvest. My goal is to first clip me a few clones off my blue mystic to keep that strain around, but i want to pollinate a few limbs of her with some white widow.....a "blue widow" of sorts. Two plants i love the qualities off.

To the point here..........any suggestions on how i can pollinate just a bit of the plant. Goal here is to end up with maybe 20-30 seeds is all and still some good bud. All done indoor of course.

  2. HIGH All, I do it All the time..Isolate the Male and have a mirror or something else to catch the pollen. I take All the stuff out like little pieces of leaf and hair (Bud) and scrap it into a vile...then get a little paint brush and lightly paint the hairs with the male pollen. I do two of the lowest branch's which gives us around 50 or so seeds.

  3. Ive really only got one quality grow room set up right now, so my time isolating the plant is limited.
Have you noticed how long after the pods appear on the male they take to burst?

Also how long does the pollen last i wonder? Ive got a male w.w. outdoors that I may be able to shake some pollen and save.

  4. Hats off uno for some more valuable info. I had planned on trying this as well, but did not know exactly where to put the pollen. The paint brush sounds like a great way to do it. I may have a problem with room for isolation as well but will figure something out.

  5. HIGH All, ok no room...no problem when the pollen sacks appear cut the branch O.F.F.F. and put it in water...the pollen sacks will keep opening up for a few days....then scrap the pollen O.F.F.F. with a razor blade. When doing the Female do just a couple of the lower Buds.

One more thing..Remember that there is enough pollen in a single male flower to pollinate thousands of female flowers.

The pollen will last for a month or two.

  6. Sweet, you da man. Hope this works so i can create my "blue widow" :)
