Part of Trump's 2005 tax return released

Discussion in 'Politics' started by well highdrated, Mar 15, 2017.

  1. Well it's only one 1044 form from 2005, so there's not much interesting.

    Some points:
    - he made ~ 150 mil and paid about 25% in total taxes
    - he wants to get rid of the alternative minimum tax (the reason he was forced to pay more), in which case his rate would only be about 4%
    - lots of information is missing, such as sources of income
    - Donald Trump was paid that year like a member of the 0.001%, but he paid taxes like the 99%. And by at least one measure, he paid like the bottom 50%.

Overall I think it's kind of pointless and is only meant to distract from real questions, like where's the rest?

Here's an interesting analysis of these measily two pages of "returns"..
DCREPORT EXCLUSIVE: Trump Earned $153 Million in 2005; He Paid $36.6 Million in Taxes – DCReport

I would say that almost every successful businessman will employ creative and knowledgeable accountants to ensure they pay as little as possible.

Still shady accounting practices do not really boost one's integrity.

  2. This last line is the exact reason why this whole thing has been a witch hunt. And Bannon and Trump have played the media like a fiddle on this issue the entire time. So Rachel Maddow had her "big" story scooped by the white house itself, proving, that at least in 2005, they are all completely off base, further making the media look like a bunch of fucking idiots, including maddow and msnbc especially. Their "big" story turned into an hour long air grasping session as even the most hardcore democrat can say that there is nothing there with the taxes, and of course, russia. 2 major distractions that have attempted to create have been debunked now, as several intelligence agents have come forth saying there is no evidence of collusion with the russians as well.

This was a well played match by bannon and trump, no doubt. They got the nbc to drop their pants, and then took a pic of their tiny little wiener to share with the country on facebook, lol

  3. Trump's supporters are sweating harder than he is over this tax release issue. The "witch hunt" could end if he just released them. Which shouldn't be a big deal if everything legally checks out.

  5. Man when I read this in the news this morning, I thought to myself, "Now I bet this will be discounted or dismissed by alllll the people who were whining to see his returns for soo long on GC and elsewhere." Now you get to see (an incomplete but never the less important part - how much he made and how much he paid in 2005) them, and it's not enough...it will never be enough for you no matter what, as long as it involves the big scary D huh?...

Sure enough, found this thread right away lol...

So predictable, you trump haters are

Edit: and thanks for starting yet another trump thread, we sure did need another one... this place starting to look like NYTimes website, 95% stories about him

  6. I love the tagline of the article:
Ten Years After His Casino Business Failed, He Was Still Writing Off Losses

Shots fired. I wonder, since this return was 10 years ago. If, say, 20 years later Trump is still writing it off.

  7. I'm really torn here. On one hand I abhor the theft that they call taxation and applaud him and everyone who evades being robbed by the criminal organization known as the state and I would still support his tax evasion 100% but now he is the figurehead of these same criminals and is supporting the theft of others.

Pick your side motherfucker! You are either for or against theft by taxation. If you are against then fight and evade all you can but don't become the hypocritical leader of the gang.

If you are for taxation and want to rule the gang that operates through it then put your money where your big fat mouth is and lead by example. Pay the fuck up! You can't have it both ways.

I evade all the taxes I can and encourage everyone else to do it who also have no interest in being a part of the gang but I can't tolerate a hypocrite who wants to tax me out the ass while paying nothing himself.

  8. Income tax equals civil asset forfeiture. Every year "citizens" are robbed by the state and must spend man hours or Federal Reserve Notes to prepare a piece of paper showing which portion they are exempt from having been stolen.

    All taxation is theft.

  9. My dude, digital first bump!
I'd the black and yellow skier coincidental or deliberate?

  10. It's pretty likely this was leaked. Why would someone only have acces to one form from one year. Seems a little suspicious. Either way this doesn't tell us much. Let's focus on the fact that the GOP is going to destroy net neutrality, gut the EPA, kill the CFPB, repeal Dodd frank, throw millions of he health insurance rolls, and cut taxes for billionaires. At this point all there is smoke and focusing on smoke for this long is not productive. Unless there is further evidence to show some Russian collusion or Russian business interests we seem to be kicking up the same dirt over and ober

  11. i think you should smoke a little and chill out... nothing here is about trump "hating".
these are facts that he himself once again dismissed as "fake news".. (check his twitter).

and it's definitely not enough. he should be releasing his current tax returns, not from 12 years ago.

p.s. please start another thread about something else, not sure what we should talk about in politics other than the current events and the president ;)

  12. he is for taxation as long as it doesn't affect him. why do you think he wants to get rid of the AMT....
    ---
The Alternative Minimum Tax (AMT) was created in 1969 to prevent 155 wealthy taxpayers from using deductions and credits to avoid paying any federal income taxes.
    ---

so yeah that's really going to help the "common folk" ..

  13. so you mean to tell me that you would pay MORE taxes than required by law?

I'm not saying that there isn't some funny accounting going on, but its legal. Dudes been audited how many times? Obviously it all checks out. And no, no trump supporters arent sweating his taxes, its only the dems. Trump supporters dont care about that witch hunt at all, and I posted what I did because I find it hilarious that you all finally got your hands on one, and it turns out he paid a LOT in taxes.

  14. why should he release them? For real? If there was an issue, he would have been charged, as he's been audited a ton. Its really a brilliant strategy by Bannon and team with this whole thing. Like I said, playing the media, and the dems like a fiddle. They aren't releasing them because everyone is clamouring for them. They want the media to do some digging, and come upon it in an illegal way so as to discredit themselves even more. Just like MSNBC and Maddow did last night. Obviously the tax return was "leaked" by someone. Just like Mike flynns tapes were (which should scare everyone WAY more than the content) I find it hard to believe some reporter just "found" it in his mailbox.

Reality is there is a lot of obama people still left in the government, and they are the ones who are leaking this bs trying to undermine this administration. Some call it deep state government, embeds, whatever you want to call it, its happening. And they aren't even being shy about it, and no one on the left cares as long as it promotes their agenda. Then when they get info (like last night) that doesn't support their agenda, they will just bury it. Kind of funny that none of the major news outlets were talking about that this morning. Wonder what the headlines would have been if he had only paid a small portion of his taxes?
Are you seeing the writing on the wall yet?

  15. We actually don't know that he is being audited. He could easily release the notice of audit and set that to rest.

It may have been under Trump's direction that the author received the forms.

The forms are pretty well meaningless without the Entire form.

It may be to distract from other news or was a one time profitable year, released to aid the illusion of his success.

He needs to release current taxes. His 2016 taxes won't be under audit when he fills them out and is ready to submit to the IRS (and hopefully the public, like all recent Presidents).

    Time will tell the story.

    :smoke:

  16. Deliberate.

  17. it's really simple. this information is needed to make sure that the president of the united states did not engage in shady (or illegal) write offs (i.e. Nixon)... or received money from foreign governments and/or otherwise engaged in illegal or semi-legal accounting practices. simply put to make sure he is not a crook.

“I welcome this kind of examination, because people have got to know whether or not their president is a crook. Well, I am not a crook.”
    -- Nixon

  18. If Trump supporters didn't care they wouldn't be in this thread rn. It would just be dems and libs, but that is clearly not the case.

  19. haha, okay. It was made with the idea that another witch hunt had been dispelled, again. But if you feel that way then there is obviously nothing that I can say that will change that perception. I came on here because I feel that he was vindicated, again. But read into it what you will.

  20. here you go, from the bastion of liberal media integrity itself, cnn.
