Parental Rights?

Discussion in 'Politics' started by CiscoKid419, Feb 3, 2011.

  1. I've been thinking lately about the rights parents have. I believe every parent has the right to raise their kids in whatever way he/she thinks is best. However there are some times where I wonder if it would be best to leave it up to the kid, especially if it has long term consequences the kid will have to deal with. An example of this would be circumcision. Any thoughts?

  2. Like cleaning smegma?

  3. God damn you, I didn't know what that was and I Google searched it. Asshole

  4. They shouldn't have the right to have their sons' penis cut, unless there's a valid medical reason - which is very rare.

  6. Call me crazy but I'm quite happy with my circumsized penis.

  7. Me too? I can't say I'm happy, but I'm not unhappy.

It is supposed to be a cleanliness thing... It has worked out for me so far, although I can't imagine an uncircumcised dick is too hard to clean.

The purpose of parenthood is to make sure a child is ready for adulthood. To teach them the things necessary to survive in this world and above all else enable them to learn throughout their lifetime. You can teach them to balance a checkbook and how to talk politely, but somethings only experience can teach, and you need to make sure they are able to utilize each experience and take away from it what they need.

  8. I'm happy as well, wouldn't want it any other way.

Adult men that were circumsized as infants don't know whether their penis is functoning as well as it would have if they hadn't been cut. There's plenty of reports from guys who had it done as adults that say it took away a lot of the feeling that they had before the procedure.

The foreskin is the most sensitive part of a man's body. If you think that cutting it off is a good idea, fine, but let children keep it until they're old enough to make up their own minds regarding their bodies.

  10. Who in their right mind would get circumsized as an adult? Also, I'm sure it would affect the "feeling" far more if one waited until their schlong was fully developed.

I don't really care one way or the other, really, but if I have a son I think I'd want him snipped for his own sake. I've never heard a woman say they were turned off by circumsized dongs but I have definitely heard of some being turned off by a hooded snake.

These women have been conditioned to hate the foreskin, even if they never even seen one in person. European women say the exact opposite of what the forskin-hating women here say - Many claim that sex is better with men that are intact.

People who have their sons circumsized are doing them harm, whether they know it or not.

  12. I believe no harm was done to me. I'm happy I didn't have to remember that happening.

  13. Just because you don't consciously remember it, doesn't mean that you weren't affected. If somebody had most of their taste buds destroyed as an infant, they wouldn't know the difference either when they were older.

  14. Well I can say I'm happy the way I am and would prefer to be this way.

  15. I was converted to Judaism when I was 12.

    Guess what happened next.

  16. Shit dude, that's awful.

But yeah, I don't think forcing somebody to do anything before they're able to think for themselves is right. Religious indoctrination has to be my biggest beef, just because my parents attempted to raise me catholic.

That shit didn't go over so well.

In other news, I'm all natural baby.

  17. you poor, poor bastard....

as a practice it is archaic and outdated, and probably stems from some irrational pseudo-scientific religious babble, and as such needs to go the way of the buffalo (errrr.... actually the buffalo is making a comeback.....make that the way of the mammoth) but to suggest that it is more or less harmful than religion as a whole is poppycock. cut or uncut they work just fine.

and to be honest i don't need any more sensitivity down yonder. in fact a little less would do me some good.

  18. The only problem is when the parents to not have the Childs best interest in mind. For instance, the people who doll their 3 yr old daughter up for pagants are much worse than the people at westburo baptist.

  19. Whatever.

    :bongin:

  20. What he said ....Those parents are pretty shitty.
