Paranoid about talking over the phone

Discussion in 'Apprentice Marijuana Consumption' started by JebusChrist, Sep 24, 2009.

  1. I honestly have no clue what prices are in my town so I called a friend who I think is better experienced in the field. He was apparently very sketched out about talking about it over the phone even though I specifically didn't use any terms.

Do you know anyone is is paranoid about that kind of thing? Big brother is watching......

  2. Yeah I've met people who are paranoid like that. They see it as extra insurance in a way, less of a chance of getting caught.

  3. I know someone who smokes and I'm friends w/ him. I dont hang out w/ him a lot though. Usually just if Im w/ a bunch of other people too. Anyways I can see him being like that. He lifeguards near one of our beaches and we visit him sometimes. I was talking about a vape and mentined the word bong and he got all sketched out and we had to change the subject...

I dont like when people are like that, We were now that close to people and the beach is pretty loud w/ ocean and all. But w/e

  4. Yea, I think it's dumb when lil pothead kids think theyre phone is tapped. the gov''t isnt gonna spend money n man power to track a stoner. Even small time weed dealers doin sacks shouldnt be too worried but its ok to be cautious once ur a dealer. You should really get worried if ur part of an organization r fuckin wit multiple pounds r doing international r multi-state shit.

  5. Yeah, not like he could lose his job over it or anything.

p.s. People not wanting to talk on the phone isn't being paranoid, its being smart. The only thing stupider than talking about it on the phone is text messeging about it. Unless you're on prepaid, but even then its nice to be careful on those. btw, cops aren't stupid, your code or slang unless very elaborate is easily translatable.

    Same in text messeges.

  6. Some people just are super paranoid as a way of ensuring to never get caught

  7. I agree. The gov't doesn't have the time or interest to monitor all that crap. TINLA, but just remember that the police do not need a warrant to monitor cell phone calls, but they do need one to tap land lines, last I checked.

  8. I'm sorry... I had to point it out.

    Don't take it personally.

  9. i mean dude, everything is monitored by the government these days. phone lines, mail, this forum. especially this forum, lol but unless its something really intense that your talkin about then i wouldnt be worried. like if u ask for a quarter over the phone, the fbi isnt gonna swoop down on you.

  10. I only asked him what were prices in this town. As far as I know he is not a dealer. I wasn't asking him if I can buy off him.

  11. then he is just stupid, paranoid, r is one of those kids who thinks he is cool by saying that the gov't is watching him.

  12. Amateurs.

  13. imho, if anyone is paying attention to what you're saying on the phone, you are already busted, you just don't know it yet.

They don't have the resources to listen to random people who aren't already under investigation for another reason.

The only security I think can be had through restricting phone usage is to ensure that no one you do business with has a phone number for you that is registered in your own name.

  14. phones scare the fuck out of me, but i still use it.

    Tracphones here i come!

  15. They don't have people listening to the conversations and reading text messeges. The conversations, text messeges and even emails if they want to, will be ran through filters looking/listening for keywords. They used this exact same technology after 9/11 to screen potential 'terrorists' to blindly think they won't use it in the "War On Drugs" is really dumb.

Welcome to the 21st century children. Where its better to be paranoid, than to be parafucked in prison. And also anyone who uses the argument "WELL LACAN, SINCE YOUR SO PARANOID THEYRE ALSO WATCHING THESE BOARDS, SO YOUR GONNA GET ARRESTED LAWLAWLALW"

Sure, they might be watching these boards, i wouldn't put it past them. But I'm not exactly buying fucking drugs from anyone on here... So how is it even remotely similar? Go ahead, keep using your cellphones to talk to drug-dealers, and keep calling other people paranoid. I hope it works out for you.

  16. One time I was chilling with a few other guys, looking to get some bud, so were all calling up our people, and one of my friends asked to use my phone, and I was like sure? Why? he said he didn't want to call on his phone... I was like , some people are just sketched out.

  17. Wouldn't texting be safer in case it's being monitored? That way nobody can prove you texted the messages (as opposed to your voice during a phone call).

  18. Yeah my attitude is " I'm most likely not going to get caught but play it safe incase I do," but I still talk about on the phone,, only dealers should worry about talking on the phone.

  19. Im thinking hes pretty dead set that every text sent/received in the US is being kept by the goverment, and they can do searches through them?

Communication is necessary to deal and under the premise that one would only get caught if their phone was being monitored, texting would be the safest bet (still using non-descriptive terms). One would have to take a calculated risk, but they wouldn't want a tape of them talking prices played in court.
