Paranoia Whilst Blazing

Discussion in 'Apprentice Marijuana Consumption' started by thelonelystoner666, Mar 3, 2016.

  1. So I used to be a regular smoker but never really got butthole stoned. Recently (few monthes) i ate an edible and was stoned for like 2-3 days because my tolerance was so low at the time. I really wanna start being a regular smoker because i have bad anxiety and i don't want to have to take meds for it anymore + back pain etc. But I'm always feeling paranoid when I smoke like I hate the feeling of it creeping up on me and when I'm stoned I just feel paranoid. Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

  2. There are many different strains of weed, each with their own characteristic effect on mind and body. It sounds like you'd wanna find some weed with a chill, body high, rather than the strong mind high that other strains are known for. This will also go hand in hand with the pain relief that you want for your back. I find that when I smoke this type of bud, I feel less paranoid/edgy (compared to other weed) and instead become red eyed and glued to the couch, and it's great :p.

I don't know much about strain names, because over here in Canberra, Australia, I've never met any dealer whose weed has a name. I'm sure there's many people here who can point you in the right direction though :).

  3. Are you sure you're not just paranoid because you're doing something illegal (considering it's illegal where you live)? I always found that the more secure of a place I'm at, the less paranoid I am. What do you think? And adding on to what IDTENT said, strains can make a difference. Try looking for indica or indica hybrids as they will relax you, deal with your pain better, and have less paranoia than the sativa counterpart.

  4. If you're taking medication for anxiety, and your plan is to smoke weed instead of taking that medication, but the weed makes you even more anxious (in the form of paranoia) then weed is only feeding your anxiety, not solving it. So, maybe some things to think about there and also talk about with a 420 friendly doctor or other medical professional.

  5. I completely agree with IDTENT! Usually sativas or sativa dominant strains cause me to be restless, and any anxiety or paranoia prior to getting high are greatly increased after smoking, exactly the opposite of relaxing! IME, this is also true with any type of strain with really high thc and relatively low cbd.

Indica , or indica-dominant strains, on the other hand, are perfect for relaxing! I'm usually too focused on the body high to even think about anxiety or paranoia, and rather than sending my thoughts into hyperdrive, which is usually what sativas do to me, I feel like my mind is really foggy, and it takes me forever to put a thought together. While smoking too much weed to the sativa side can make you uncomfortable, from my experience at least, smoking too much of an indica, at worse, usually makes me so drowsy that I just fall asleep without even remembering how.

I'd like to add one more thing: this is a generality, and sometimes indicas tend to have more sativa-like effects, and vice versa. But as a general guideline, especially if you don't have access to specific strains, I think it's a good idea to follow the indica/body high, sativa/heady high rule.

    Sorry for the long post!
