Pandemic Stressed

Discussion in 'General' started by PatZin, Aug 19, 2021.

  1. Hey guys!

How are you all? Would like to ask suggestions of the things you do during this pandemic? I'm literally bored. Whenever I'm on my bed, the urge is knocking me and to avoid it, I do gardening but, its not enough. Honestly, I want to go on a travel. I'm dying to see new faces and have interaction with them without worrying of catching COVID along the way but, I can't since some areas are restricted to tourist. I can no longer handle this stress, I'm so drained!!!

  2. Exercise has been shown to help with boredom and depression.:hello: And here's a few more suggestions-

    Me? I read.

Here's a study about an ancient Chinese shaman who did take his cannabis with him :apache: -

A new insight into Cannabis sativa (Cannabaceae) utilization from 2500-year-old Yanghai Tombs, Xinjiang, China. (China/ Austria/ USA/ India) (full – 2006) A new insight into Cannabis sativa (Cannabaceae) utilization from 2500-year-old Yanghai Tombs, Xinjiang, China

Or you could see how cannabis is being grown in the Khyber area-

    (India) (full – 2020)

Or maybe some old-fashioned "reefer madness" for a laugh?

Marijuana, Assassin of Youth - by H. J. Anslinger. (USA) (full – 1937)

    Or some more modern madness-

Or maybe you'd like what the late Carl Sagan thought about cannabis-

  3. I won't supply you with pointless links.. I'll be real with you. Bars, woodworking, fixing up my house, taking care of my pets, helping refugee families... That's basically what I do each week. I'm always busy and never bored. You have to find what works for you.

  4. Well, me personally I work 50 hours a week, am a part-time grad student and have two very small kids... so free time is in short supply these days.

    My favorite hobby is cooking.

    Things I love about cooking:
    • Material: there is an infinite amount to learn. Countless cultures, fusions and levels of difficulty. Millions of YouTube videos to instruct you and let you try different things.
    • Reward: You get to enjoy the aroma of braised lamb shank through the house, the smell of ribs smoking in the backyard, the fulfillment you get when something comes out perfect.
    • Social: You can share the hobby easily with friends and family. Host big dinners and cookouts. (I'm luckily that I live near a lot of extended family now and keep a pretty large bubble).
You mentioned that you like gardening, even better! Find all the fun and creative ways you can use your own produce in your food.

Just an idea! Hope you find something. Pandemic times really do suck - I had to lock down pretty hard last year being immunocompromised. But, to be honest, now that my wife and I are both vaccinated we're not shutting ourselves off to the world. Take reasonable precautions, but I don't think the science suggests that vaccinated people still need to be shutting in completely unless there's a medical reason to do for you or a member of your immediate family.

  5. Learn the Mindfulness breathing technique. I have employed it for years as it relaxes me quite well.

  6. Wow. Why you guys have many things to do? What's wrong with me. I'm glad you do not belong to the other young adults who have experienced a number of pandemic-related consequences, such as closures of universities and loss of income, that may contribute to poor mental health. During the pandemic, a larger than average share of young adults (ages 18-24) report symptoms of anxiety and/or depressive disorder (56%) and even if I don't fall on that age, I admit I'm experiencing mental breakdown.

  7. I agree with the research about young adults who are more exposed to mental issues this pandemic. But, this is not an excuse not to get up and be back on your track. Try to engage in proactive activities like biking or swimming.

  8. Its all fake news. Go live your life.

  9. The only pandemic is tyranny

  10. Oh, you are referring about the Taliban's take over? We are facing so many issues now and its hard to process what should be the priority.

  11. How do you say its fake? There's this one anti vaxxer who tested positive and now urging everyone to be vaccinated. Well, in times like this, its really hard what to believe.

  12. No I mean human rights being violated by government due to this completely overblown and lied about covid situation. And as bad as the Taliban situation may be, it was never supposed to be Americas problem. Of course leaving all those US weapons there was a brain dead decision though. But that's hardly surprising. A little page out of the Obama handbook (fast and furious scandal).

  13. I say its fake because like you said, no one knows what to believe. To much contradicting information out there. COVID is here to stay. China dropped the ball and started a global pandemic. Fortunately, its not that deadly. So get your shot, dont get your shot, it doesnt really matter. Plenty of vaxed people getting very sick. But its no reason to stop living your life. Just be smart. Dont share drinks. Dont share blunts. Keep your hands clean. Avoid super crowded places. But dont stop living.
