painting a guitar?

  1. anyone have any experience with this? i just wanna paint it black.. i'm gonna sand it and then paint the bitch but do you guys have any knowledge on what paint i should use blah blah or does it not matter? any help is appreciated. :cool:
     
  2. Sanding is the most important part. Start with a rough sandpaper and progressively move to a smooth sandpaper. If you leave any rough spots or inconsistencies on the body then chances are you'll be able to see them through the paint.

    Paint in a well ventilated area like outside or an open garage, etc. Make sure that while it dries there's nothing that can land on it and get stuck in the wet paint. I've come back to find dust, debris, and bugs stuck in the paint before. :mad::mad:

    I think I used these paints. Buy extra paint to practice on something so you can figure out how to get an even coat.
