  3. I really don't think that will work that well.
To get oxygen to roots your material needs to be a mixture that when you feed the run off comes out good and the mixture does not compact.

Those will give the roots all the O2 they need.[IMG]

  5. Air pots or the grow bags are designed for the roots to get air.
They both work good and the bags are a lot cheaper but work well.

  6. If you have the pump i suggest buying this . It will guard the plants

If soil is compact soaked then oxygen will be stared from the roots.
All a grower needs to do is add the proper amount of drainage material roots get the proper oxygen.
But he said its an experiment . Why not get a air pump ? Put many tubes into the soil

  7. Should i make a new post ? Why do i eat these damn things ? upload_2023-10-13_12-44-59.jpeg Morning coffee on the toilet. These thing wake you up when your shitting them out !! lol Why in the hell do i eat these . I think i need more oxygen please use that pump lmao.

  8. Bubbling the fertigation solution prior to feeding adds O2. Adding a small amount of hydrogen peroxide to the fertigation/water will increase O2.

    Basic soil science:
Porosity of the soil medium is the key to maintaining oxygen in the root zone.
When the medium is loose water will pass through it with gravity. As the water finishes it passage through the soil it creates a vacuum which draws in fresh oxygen into all to porous spaces. Irrigate again, new cycle of replacement.
If you get good runoff after an irritation cycle you probably have a root zone rich in oxygen.
For me, I grow in pellets with 24/7 continuous nutrient feed. Always gave oxygen being drawn into the pellets.
Soil growers with the correct blended soil can achieve maximum oxygenation also, many do

  13. Guess you could try Sparkling Mineral Waters

  14. I went back and looked at your grow journal, that you got going now, look at your plants that are 30 days old in your growing material.
Then go to my grow journal and look at my double grape auto that's only 34 days old from sprout.
It's in coco but it will show you how much better a plant grows that is getting oxygen to the roots.

  15. I lean heavily on Perlite in my soil mix but rice hulls and other biological material can be used to improve aeration.

  16. There are too many variables to make a hard comparison to base on oxygen to roots as the main reason for difference in growth. Light strength and quality, medium, amendments, genetics, temperature, humidity, all work synergistically. However, no one will disagree with you as to the importance of oxygen in the root zone.
In my testing of same genetics, same temps, same water/ph, same nutes etc, i would have expected the plastic 5 gal bucket to show marked less growth than 5 gal fabric pots due to less aeration of root zone, but I saw zero difference. Just like back in the day I was told far red helped bloom in many ways---I could not detect any subjective difference with or without it. Same with UV light use. Maybe if I did the experiment over and over and weighed things to the gram I would see a objective difference; however, subjectively I saw no change. I am not disputing what you are saying clearsky. I respect your views and your statement is based in pure fact. I just question how much of a good thing is really needed and how truly impactful more of it is.

  17. good idea but IIRC it is the wrong gas. Sparkling water liberates C02 not O2

  18. How does that rationale of creating a vacuum to pull in oxygen explain the success we see with sub irrigation planters which water from the bottom up?
