This is my first post, and I hope it's not in the wrong place. With that said, I've always wanted to start my own grow, but now the tables have turned and I've ended up with the cart in front of the horse, so to speak.
Last week, a VERY trusted friend, professional businessman and all around gem of a human being approached me and said his friend was getting out of growing after getting a new job and moving, and was at a loss for a buyer for the equipment, and in a time pinch. After failed attempts to find trusted people to store it, and almost tossing it, I ended up with it. Now, I have a ton of shit and barely know what it is. Researching it has been daunting as I get two questions per answer on a brand new field. I'm guessing from reading the Absolute beginners section and grow room set up section, that this is a ton of shit to just end up with? What is the scale of this? Value? I live in the US, is this all legal to own? Also, I'm still in no position to have a place to grow, so don't worry about me jumping in all foolhardy (if I haven't already...) I've removed the exif data on the following pics to the best of my knowledge. 2x4x6 IMG_20180823_010901.jpg IMG_20180823_011421.jpg IMG_20180823_011541.jpg IMG_20180823_013206%20(2).jpg IMG_20180823_013039%20(2).jpg

  3. Got some crackin gear there mate. Enough lights to cover a good few square metres.

The first decision to make is how you want to grow.
    Soil.
    Organic.
    Coco.
    Or hydro.
Organics is the easiest for feeding as they just get water as all the nutes are in the organic compost. Hardest to get the pot mix right though.
Soil while feeding nutes is the worst choice. Get the hassle of both worlds with none of the benefits.
Coco is pretty straight forward and more forgiving than iether soil method. Easier to fix problems with it too.
Hydro, the last option provides the best yields and fastest growth. Im a hydro grower and id argue that unless you learn how to make organic compost, this is the easiest option. Less problems occur and those that do can all be fixed by changing out the res water. Cant do that with any other grow method.

A lot of people are out off full hydro because you have to ph adjust a resevoir constantly but its just a case of dipping a stick in it every day or 2 then adding a couple drops of liquid.
Dont have to water them, just fill a big bucket with nutes and the plants feed from the bucket. Taking what they want, when they want it. When the res runs low you top it up.

  4. Hey, thanks for the reply! I've actually done some farming before... A few acres with the folks and grandparents back in the day. All outdoor, and a just few indoor plants over the years.

  5. Thanks for replying. Oddly it feels good to even touch base on a forum. Keeping this shit a secret and not saying anything to anyone isn't hard exactly, but it has been chafing since I've been non-stop excited about it.

I think I would like to give hydro a shot. I've always been a biology nut, and it's exciting since it's the option I have the least experience with.

  6. I’m confused what are the LEDS for if u have t5s and 1000w hps. Is that your only tent? Seems like to lunch light

  7. My advice is to go nice and slow. Get it all set up. Make sure temps, humidity airflow etc are all squared away first. Makes the rest very easy.

I started of with hydro DWC but got it all set up first, got all nutes and tools needed before I germinated and it’s been smooth sailing.

  8. Not sure. Remember, I didn't pick this stuff out; It landed in my lap. Although, there is one more tent that isn't pictured. As it was too big. I think it's 4x2x7.

  9. Oh ok I read 1st post

  10. Wish I could buy it all from you. That’s a great start at a grow. If you don’t want to grow weed, grow some f’ing kick ass tomatoes.

  11. In my sleep deprived state last night I forgot about these two bad boys. The larger one measures 16x40 and the smaller one is around 14x38. Not really sure how to look these up or assess them. Suggestions? IMG_20180824_014440.jpg

  12. Jesus mate those things could scrub a fuckin housefull without breakin a sweat. Did the rediculously oversized fans come too? Few hundred quid to get one thatll fit that beast if not lol.

If you do decide to go down the hydro route hit me up man. Ill gladly walk you through it. Honestly its a piece of piss if its explained propperly. Need a botany degree to get a decent yield in soil but i could teach you how to hydro in about 20 minuits.

  13. I was told there is more stuff. Didn't see it myself. What I have now is the amount that couldn't be stashed. My friend that mediated for us (neither of us know who the other is) said that there are fans, cords and mostly smaller items. I also have a bin of what I assume is nutes that I haven't gone through yet.

These filters have a finite lifespan, yes? Any way to estimate how used they are/life left in them?

  14. Not that i know of mate. Trust me though even if the filters are well abused theyll still handle a fair amount of weed before you smell anything. Those are the biggest scrubbers ive ever seen lol.
Usually adviseable to change them every 18 months roughly. Thats industrial scale though so probably last longer. They dont smell much till a few weeks in bloom anyway so worry about in 3 months lol.

  15. So this is the rest of it. Finally got around to finishing this off, and hopefully these are the fans I need. 16. Fuck me mate your a jammy sod like. I'd kill for all that lol.
The 4k bulbs are for veg. The 2k red ones are for bloom. And those fans are the bollocks too!
What's the things in the boxes that look like amplifiers? Never seen them before?

  17. Sure it's legal to own. Tons of people grow "non cannabis" plants like chillies or whatever.

Also, congratulations on the good deal.
That's ALOT of money you have there.

One thing to consider if you grow is electricity. Even a small grow will have an impact on your electrical bill. How much depends on the equipment you use. The lighting will have a large impact depending on what type of lighting you use.

Last but not least. Go slow, read up on it all (tutorials all over the web), but don't get overwhelmed. Just grow, make mistakes, learn from them and soon you'll be enjoying fat ass buds that YOU grew

  18. Dam good hual man. Once in a life time connection

Hydro is good and I don't think I'd ever go back to soil as my main growing medium.

But hydro ( DWC RDWC) can be pretty dam finicky on root health if temps arnt kept in check 65 to 68f. Along with root rot, root stranglation, and all that other shit. But it is beautiful seeing the whole plant.

Oh and if your doing a RDWC check your roots weekly.... they have a habbit of growing down the drain.
