Overdrying Problem??

  1. I recently smoked some of my homegrown that I harvested in Nov. The smoke is harsh & and it doesnt have a good smell. Due to a scheduling problem, I had to chop them about a week early and they were left drying for 18 days. The plants were brittle but I put the buds in jars with a slice of lettuce until the moisture returned. I've been curing for six weeks now and I would have expected a sweeter smell and taste. Anything I cant do or just leave them and hopefully the buds will cure?
The saving grace is that the high is trippy!

  2. You had the patience to harvest your home grown in nov and not smoke any of it till late jan? you are a stronger man than I. You did what i would have done if they got too dry, throw in some fresh lettuce or MJ leaf, orange peels are cool as well. The drying and curing process can take your bud along way in terms of taste and smoothness but it all really comes down to the seeds you used. Also, you use alot of ferts? if so you give them like 2 weeks with no ferts and just flush b4 u harvested?

  3. ball up a slice of bread and stick it in the jar..this is the secret!!!

  4. Thanks for your replies.I used Foxfarm nutes throughout until the last 2 weeks. Then I flushed them and simply used water and molasses every other watering until chop time. The seeds were Doc chronic's MP5K which I grew 3 yrs ago and the smoke was smooth. The other seeds were from the Spice Brothers which were Endless Sky X C99. The MP5K smells like dirt when I open the jars and the other one smells like skunk at first.

**LoveDirtWeed** I havent tried bread, maybe that may work.
