I have a simple question. I have a 1000watt HPS(220 v) with raptor hood. Well 3 of them. But running 1 to start. Does the ballast add to the wattage? As in 1000watt ballast plus 1000 watt bulb equals 2000 watts? Im going to run 10-3 nomex (30 amp)to my grow room(10x15). So i need to know if if the 80% 5760 watt capacity is going to be adequate
I dont use HPS, but my understanding is that the ballasts account for roughly 10% of electricity as waste heat. I think found this HPS Lighting actual watts consumed
