Outside stealth dog house grow box! What do you think?

  1. I have created a grow box that I thought might fit my needs. I raise a few pitbulls and I thought that making a stealth grow box would be easy. The grow box and dog house will all be one big wooden box. However a wooden wall will seperate the two from each other.

    This might make better since....

I think I have everything covered. Did I miss anything? As I said all the guages will be read from inside the house. There will be a side hookup in which I can add distilled water and nutes. There will be two exhaust fans on the top and one big hole in the back wall of the grow box which will be covered with a screen and an AC filter. The air will get sucked through the filtered hole at the bottom and then out through the fans. I am going to have an air pump which will be feeding Oxygen to the plant roots but I was also going to try and install a water pump which lead to a mister. The mister would also give the roots oxygen rich water. I am also thinking about installing a camera inside the box which will be operated by a computer inside the house. This way I can check my guages and even see my plants directly from my home.

I have a few questions of my own though. I am going to try and grow C-99 for my first grow. I am going to grow 5 C-99 plants in a hydroponic setup using CFLs through the veg stage.

What is the correct name for CFLs? Like if I go to Lowes what will I be looking for on the shelf or box? What will it say? CFL?

How many watts should I use or need for the design I have given?

Well what do you think? Any questions or comments? Please leave me some feedback, thanks again!

  2. i'm in a bit of a hurry mate, but here's a few things to consider..........weather, does it get cold where you are in winter, if so without the use of an HPS light or heater the plants could get too cold........

exhaust fans genearlly make noise, could annoy the dogs sleeping pattern, or people hearing it.......

the fans will also extract a smell of weed, and depending on location this may be essential.

if you add a mister, or if you don't, over time the wood will get damp with all the water in there evaporating over time.

cfl stands for compact flourecent light, or fluro/s as it's commonly called.

hows the access, bear in mind that myself and a lot of other growers need to get close to the plants for maintenence, sometimes i visit 2 or 3 times a day.

just some ideas for you to think over, like the smell i mentioned, maybe think about adding an in-line carbon filter...............not a bad idea though, but with all the hassle, couldn't you find a good outside location for mother nature to do the hard work for you?.........or is location a bummer............?..........Peace out...........Sid

  3. I live in Texas so the coldest winter we will get is like 20 degrees F.

The fans will be operated by a flick of the switch so I could turn them off at night because most of the times my dogs dont even go in there house unless it is rainy or cold.

C-99 I'm told puts off a piney kind of lemony smell. I hear that you could grow it inside with nothing but insence burning and no one would know the difference.

This mister will not be for the plants on the outside. The mister will be inside the water source which will spray mist on the roots keeping the roots oxygen and nutrient rich. There will be no mister outside the water source. The mister will be for the roots only. I will probably just spray the plants according to humidity levels.

How many watts do you think I will need for 5 plants in the following grow space if I am using CFLs or HIDs?

NOW ACCESS IS A BITCH!!! You have to pop open two doors and basically crawl inside the dog house just to get to the grow room. However this does also adds to stealth. No one would be able to get to the plants but me. My dogs wouldn't let them! Now this I will have to work on but I'll figure something out.

I guess I could plant them outside but having a grow room like this is in more of a controlled climate. I can determine how much light, nutrients, etc. etc. Plus not long ago my name got kind of hot so I'm keeping this project on the absolute hush! The grow will be for my soul use only! NO SELLING! Just me and my smoke! Why do I want to grow my own? I am looking for that psycadelic head high with no body effects. C-99 is the only type herb I know of that gives you the effect I desire. Thanks for the feedback dude. You gave me some shit to thing about. Do you got any more suggestions? Anyone else?

  4. I assume you have power running to the dog house, I think that would look odd to others, having cords popping out of your dog house. also it would look strange having a glowing dog house. I just grazed this forum, so if you already mentioned this, my bad. you seem to have it down though, good luck.

also what part of texas? some areas would be less concerned with you growing than others.

  5. It's not really where I am located it's WHO I am. I kind of already go a reputation so I dont need an obvious heat AT ALL. As for the cords they will be hidden (i got my ways) and you will not be able to see the light coming out of the box except through the exhaust fans. However I can just say that they are heat lamps for my dogs. You sometimes need heat lamps when you are having pups in the winter. Any other suggestions as to what I might need. I like yall's ideas of what could go wrong or what to look out for because I need input from everyone. The more input I get on what others think, then the less likely I will leave something out. Thanks again! Anyone else have input? I need all I can get!

  6. are you planning on crawling into the doghouse and then opening the the door in the house to get to the plants? if so you might want to hang a rug or something over the enterance so when you go in and open the door no light shows up, cause a guy crawling into a doghouse and then a really bright light would look pretty damn suspicious ;).. and making a light trap to go ontop to keep the light frow showing up from the exhaust would be pretty easy to make... i'd make a light trap for the air intake aswell. and for a room that size i'd fit asmany 4' or 8' flourecent tubes in there as i could fit... aiming for atleast a total of 1000w... preferably upwards of 1300.. keep the lights on chains so you can bring them right down on the plants, without gettin them too hot... probably about 6"...

heres a pic of an easy light trap.... you get what im tryin to draw....

  7. paint the roof of the dog house to block the nosy pigs vision. :)

No looks liek you have everything down pat, cept for the acess prob. that will be easily fixed though i hope. Yeah hippie johns idea will work for your light issue. But as for the fans and noise. I have a cheap way of doing things. And it wont look obvious at all. All you need to do is since they are exhaust fans, set them into the roof jsut a little bit, and make a piece that will allow ventalation to the outside. then you take some insulation like they use in computers it has a sticky side, and the other side is jsut foam, doesnt screw with airflow, and also grabs smell. Trust me, if you rub your hand inside my computer you can smell it.

But the fans wont be a big deal i am jsut worried about it for the pups.. but the insulation would do the trick. Also if you havea couple dryer vents on the sides of the dog house no one would really think anything, you can jsut say it is ventilation for your dog house because her pupies were getting heat stroke in the summer. Use it to your advantage and put a couple intake fans there.

  8. "I raise pitbulls so guarding the box shouldn't be any concern"

    lmfao

  9. im meant to say paint it with lead. Man i am such a stoner. Oops sorry i dont think i should talk about pot in here. :)

  10. i also live in texas and unfortunatly lost my seeds to the u.s. department of agraculture. you got any more of those c-99 seeds left? oh yea and where in texas.

  11. The whole thing cathces fire and your puppies will burn to death, I am sorry.

  12. Ingenious.

  13. lol, just do it in a closet bro. cfls put off no heat.

  14. the only problem i saw no one addressed..
bugs..jorge cervantes says after petting your dogs, wash your hands
before going into your grow room..so having dogs virtually in your growroom
sounds like it could get a little "pesky" unless there is no mixture of enviroments

  15. i would love to see this.

this forum is an endless source of originality

  16. What are you gonna do about the heat signatures? If rumors go around about the grow house then all it would take is a cop with a heat gun.

Only thing I could think of is if it was well known and obvious that you breed dogs in there.. all year long. Saying this, you'd have to create some kind of insulation so as to prevent any pests from infesting your flowers.
